Tax credit hell

  • The op realises that he shouldn't be claiming the benefits and he is also claiming for a child who does not attend child care. They do not want to stop claiming this money so it is fraud and everyone has a right to say so!

There is a fine line between failure to notify a change and a fraud.

Where is this fine line of which you speak?

Claiming money that you are not entitiled to is fraud. It's a criminal offence.

And you should be prosecuted for it.

I was talking in more general terms and yes I would agree that if he was to continue doing this knowing it is wrong then he deserves strong condemnation,

However you seem unwilling to answer the points I raised and I am just asking not asking for an argument just surprised that the CAB would take such a strong view.

I don't think Mr Cow meant you specifically, he meant 'you' in more general terms, eg. "you lot".

I do not think she was taking about you specifically.

The CAB cannot put themselves in a postion where they are seen to be condoning benefit fraud because it could put their funding at risk. As most people do not realise that they are a charity and heavily rely on funding!

I am not suggesting that anyone should help or commit fraud and that is not the point I was trying to make.

How will the OP put things right and claim what he is rightfully entitled to without proper advice?

Will he be too scared to get advice on how to put matters right now?

Has he not been a bit stupid rather than a premeditated plan to commit fraud, it may still be fraud I know?

How likely would it be that he would be prosecuted small I would have thought?

So they carry on with the fraud because they can not get advice how much more will that cost the tax payer? (I am one thanks)

It would appear that they may actually still qualify for some tax credits? but admit I am confused as to how many hours are worked it would appear to be 16.

How many weeks since the child care stopped more than 4? do they not have 4 weeks to notify a change like this?

please note the above are questions to discuss not statements...this is a forum.

I think I know what mrcow was saying but I think he was jumping to conclusions about me?

They do have 4 weeks but this has been going on for sometime, it appears over a year. The op was worried about what they were going to do when they eventually discovered it, not how should they stop it. It is highly likely that the op will be prosecuted, unless he owns up.

Yes have read the first post again but still find it confusing and I think op is confused.

It would appear that it is the child care costs have gone down to nil from xmas?

which is more than 4 weeks agreed

Would the OP come back on?
