i saw that and i was thinking they may not even in charge of the car park any more.
the more and more i think about it i think maybe not paying it its kinda good idea.

As you will have gathered from (nearly) all the posters on this thread, not paying them is by far and away the best idea.
    Honestly.

Much more info here if you want to read through it all

the only thing on my yellow bag was PENALY NOTICE and nothing else

My sunglasses have "POLICE" written on them, but it don't mean Jack...

    Seriously, don't bother paying it.

There are no legal powers for the issuing company to enforce or pursue payment.
  • As a Transport Manager looking after a fleet of 150 vehicles I have a lot of experience with private parking enforcement companies. The Parking charge notice which they issue is designed to look like an official Penalty Charge Notice which is issued by local autorities, the parking chage notice is not legally enforceable in any way as there is no legal provision for a private company to fine an individual. When one of these lands on my desk I send a letter to the company requesting further information and requesting copies of all agreements and signage, they send a standard letter back stating that they will pass teh debt onto a collection agency if the "fine" is not paid. The collections company generally send 3 or 4 letters threatening court action, I send 1 letter back requesting a full file of all documentation so that I may issue a counter claim against them for time and inconvenience spent corresponding with them. In 3 years I have never heard anything more from any parking enforcement company.

If you are unlucky enough to be clamped on private land I would suggest contacting the police and requesting an officers attendance as you are being intimidated. often the attending officer will make the clamper remove the clamp as they are nearly always operating well beyond thier remit.

    Carrying on ignoring it

If you'd read all the info about these private parking tickets, you'd have known to expect several more letters.

File it away and get on with your life.

You have NO obligation whatsoever to provide them with any information. Did they try the 'pre-action protocols' and or quote or reference CPR 31 ? If so they lied.

ok so i gor another letter
    the letter says
i was informed of the breach of regulations in which the vehicle was involved .
you are hereby warned that court action may now be instigated to recover unpaid Parking Notices, unless payment of £60 is made immediately by cheque or postal order to Legion Group PLC and sent to the address. .................... if court action is necessary we will, in addition, ask the court to make an order requiring you to pay legal costs, which we estimate at £40. the court may also fine you.
    what should i do now?

Don't you just love the use of MAY this and MAY that to intimidate you. As Sarah says ignore and file.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
