I'm going to be ambitious and aim for £50 this month - that's just for me, for all groceries, basic toiletries and cleaning products. May be a challenge but I'll give it a go!

    I'm on a roll!!!

Have done a meal list from contents of freezer and cupboards and I reckon I can get 22 main meals from it... These include meals for me and little kids during the week, some bigger portions for all the children at weekends and meals containing meat when OH is about. It's not a meal if it hasn't got meat in - just a snack...apparently...x

    Hi Everyone.
After a disastrous April, well overspent, I am going to try very hard in May to be frugal!!!
Mrs Mac. Can you put me down for £130.00 for May.
    Thanks

An additional small spend today. DD has been a complete gannet recently. Perhaps not surprising, as she is growing fast at the moment, but it des mean that we are getting though a lot of food. Got some more fruit & yoghurts, as she had scoffed all that I had bought last week, and some more milk – again.

But I am now through the first week & it should just be fresh bits over the next three weeks; it is only a short four week month. So should be OK.

    Hi Sashanut,

I live in Edinburgh (Woo!) and if you look on my own thread on the Debt-Free Diaries thread you will see that I answered that question for someone recently who is coming up to my fair city soon.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Mr S delivered - £48.81, but that had a lot of things, including turkey escalopes at BOGOF. Also that includes the delivery charge. The rest of my spends shows where my money is going - sweeties and a drink for little bear. He doesn't have them every day, but they soon mount up! Especially if you only buy the good stuff for him (rubbish for me )

It should be only bread and milk till next week, but we shall see. I don't want to get my budget up, I want to get my spending down.

Having said that, I feel in a stock up mood so I may try and stash an extra few cans in the next few shops, see how things go.

Meal planning - completely pants so far.

    Evening All!

Getting off to a funny old start for May. Already spent £35.29 from budget but don't have anything wonderful to show for it and I can think of a huge list of things I need which. I am willing those garden fruit and veggies to get growing. I think the problem I have is, wanting to buy the best on such a small budget whch simply won't stretch as far as I think it should. Anyway, I made a nice HM Fish Crumble for dinner last night which was yummy and tonight we had HM Lasagne followed by Kiwi and Icecream. Still able to buy local FR egggs for £1.50 a dozen which is Fab!

Have a good evening all! Hope all your budgets are going well.icon7.gif

May starts tomorrow for me. I have audited the cupboards and freezer and have written most of the menu plan and shopping list for May. Trying to decide whether to do online shop with Mr S or in person shop with Mr M. Also need to go to L!d! for nappies if there are no good discounts in the supermarket.
April was a very out of control month so I will be working hard to keep to the £350 budget for May
