Hello,
I've not done this before but reading your posts have inspired me. My Shopping month is 15th May - 12th June.
My budget is £300.00.
Spent so far £80.00.
Spag bol for tea tonight.0 -
Morning all!
Just popping on to add a bottle of milk to the total - not very exciting but I'm trying be as honest as possible with my totals - I used to ignore these little one off spends like this but I guess it all adds up in the end;)
I have approx £86 to last me just another week of shopping (my challenge ends on Friday 29th May). I have enough to last until the main shop on the weekend and will write a list and mealplan for next week to use up stuff in the freezer as it looks like it needs defrosting desperately - the seal is not shutting properly now - its a chest freezer so does stay shut, especially with the ironing basket plonked on top of it!
Just one little bit of good news I had to share - my loan has now officially been paid off and has disappeared from the internet banking page - yeah!!!:j:j:j
Just £2k to pay off on the other one (that I was left with my my ex boyfriend) and I finally feel like I'm making headway! The original loan (for him I might add!) was £9k so I'm getting there slowly. I'll need all the cash I can get my hands on from Sept as I'm giving up work to retrain as a teacher and therefore loan repayments are a big deal!0 -

Just to say well done Rachelmk :T
Quick update of my challenge so far. I have spent just under £60 today so doing well. I only have one more big food shop in May and will save the extra money in an account to go out with DS3 during the summer holidays. The elder ones wouldn't be seen with me now :rotfl:0 -
HI just a quick update, we spent £72 at Mr. M's testerday evening and used our £5 Sun Voucher. We got a load of whoopsie fresh fish to put in the freezer, a piece of cooked belly of pork reduced from £3.51 to £1.50.
The cooked pies from the deli were all reduced to 4 for 99p soe got to packs of those, peppered steak slices, and lamb ones which I haven't tried yet, but look yummy!
We've overstocked on a lot of stuff to save going back, got extra cheese and Anchor Spreadable (2 for £3).
There was a glut of stuff in the whoopsie freezer but our freezer is stuffed to the rafters now so we didn't get any, someone's in for a good time there!
We went at about 7p.m to see what bargains we could get. Not as good as Tesco though, I have to say.
Next step down is skip-raiding though I wouldn't know where to start :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Scotsaver...I would think the stiffado would be ok in the slow cooker -just not as "roasted" in flavour if that makes sense-and you won't need as much liquid either...
My mouth is watering at the thoughts of that now  may have to make it some day soon -with lemon potatoes and my mums olive bread mmmmm
Thanks MRSMC - I am just about to serve this from the SC and it smells delicious. I'm serving it with Couscous.;)
