Well as we start on the 15th (hubby pay day) now that is our housekeeping fund (food, diesel etc) replenished. I have cut it by £50 as I am trying to put some money back into the pot that I spent when we were away, but it should be ok. I really need to get organised and use up some of the stuff in the freezer, but have really been on a fresh fruit and veg drive recently (in fact might need to pop out later for some more carrots etc). Still not counting shopping exaclty but managing to stay within the overall budget. Tesco FV seems so expensive though so have been using Coop and Lidl more, and also local shops.
Ok, hope everyone is doing ok.

Well I am a little over budget now...but that's cos I found loads of bargains in tesco today and stocked up! got a big stash of herbal tea, tuna, chestnut puree and other stuff all for pennies
so if anyone is off to daventry tescos, check their whoopsies section, cos there's lots leftAugust grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
spent £52.30 in tesco and I know I will have to stock up on fruit and bread during the week and I've got £67 to last 15 days, I am sure i can do it if I am careful
going to make a ratouille pasta melt for tea with peas and crusty bread0 -
Have updated my spends for today as I paid a visit to the Butcher's - got a bit carried away, wanted Lamb for this Sunday and ended up buying a Whole Leg of Spring Lamb for £24:eek: On the positive side it's huge, it weighs almost 6lb and so it will do us on Sunday, Curry on Monday and the remainder will be sliced and frozen for other meals. I also picked up 3lb of their homemade sausages (you get a discount when you buy 3lb) and some lovely English Bacon. Will need to keep a tight watch on the remainder of the budget as I've still got 11 days to go but should only need F&V and milk now as meal planned for everything else.
Dinner tonight is Fish, HM chips and Mushy peas.;)
Have a good evening everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Afternoon all just logged in to update spends and catch up on thread....
Everything going well at the moment a few spends last night in Mr M including some nice bread rolls reduced to 9p.
Signature updated.
Not sure if this has been mentioned on this thread already but from Mon 18th to Sat 23rd THE SUN newspaper will be printing a voucher everyday for £5 off a £30 spend for Morrisons. The 6 daily vouchers can be used over the next 6 weeks( 1 per week)

There is talk that Mr T will honour these vouchers too, they did last year and my local mr T had advertising outside the store saying they accept them.

Oooooo......
We have a store opening around us - but not until mid-July. But I discovered yesterday they're running a courtesy bus down to what is currently our closest until then. I was planning on giving it a try next Friday, and if it works out I thought I might do it on a weekly basis just to get used to their pricing as much as anything.
I didn't get them last time around -- but I would have if I'd known Mr T were accepting them
I'm not sure that I could actually manage to spend £30/week though - but I might suggest to DD that we split the cost of the paper and the saving, and I pick up some of her shopping alongside mine so the combined total comes to £30Cheryl0
