  • I totaled up all my receipts and spends, today to see how well i was doing and well I'm not sure well is the correct word, i was shocked  at how much i have spent in just over a week. An the worst of it is that i still have to go out today and get a few more bits that i forgot to get yesterday, although i do now have the essentials so i should need to buy much for my lunch for the next week.

However my grocery spend month todate is £92.86  at least i can tell you where it has all gone but it does mean i have £107.14 to get me through the next 3 weeks:eek: which gives me a grand total of £35 per week:eek: wish me luck!

    Afternoon :)

I slipped for various reasons and haven't joined in for a few months, but I feel ready to start again, so can I come back please :D

Can I be put down for a part month running from today until the 31st (25 days), with an overall budget of £260 for a family of 5, please Mrs M.

I'm going to try something a bit different for me - I'm breaking it down into a daily budget - which this month works out at £10.40 (or £72.80 a week) - it would normally be a bit higher, but I've already spent it :o

I've got to succeed with this - if I don't there's no money for the kids summer holidays - and 6 weeks stuck in with the missing dwarves Sulky and Grouchy and that new antihero "Over-Reacter Boy" is more than I dare think about  :rotfl:

Im sorry to laugh -but that is soooo funny :rotfl:
If that isn't an incentive to stick to a budget I don't know what is ;)

Just done my first shop of the month and spent 1/3 of it
oh well should last a while, and I have been running down the freezer to defrost, which I did on Tuesday, so now have space for home made batch cooking again.
Get my first wage packet since September on the last Friday of this month :j so still got a lot of month left, could be some interesting dinners to wards the end of the month
I do miss cheap lunches at home like beans on toast etc, nothing at work to cook with, only a kettle so OK for tea which is a must;)

Hilarious :T and I COMPLETELY know what you're saying. I'm having drama over drama over drama with an 11 year old too. I usually call him drama queen but I might go with your label for a while :D

A NSD for me again. 2 in a row. Am trying to get back on the conscious eating wagon too and it's sitting at day 3 so I might yet be on a roll. I've now decided to definitely go shopping alone at the weekend and buy just what's needed for a week's dinners and lunches.

Oh, and I've now divided a box of Coco Pops with Tesco value coco pops. Looking at them separately you can tell they're different but now they're all mingled it's not so easy. Proof of the pudding (or Coco pops) is in the eating so I'll know after breakfast tomorrow.

Right, I'm beginning to understand how my housekeeping doesn't go very far. Updating my sig every night is making it clearer just exactly where its going. Today £12 for the gardener, and £30 on beer has made a big difference - and I'm not even drinking the beer!!!
I also need some more contact lenses but at £42 for another batch, I'll stick with my specs for another week I reckon.

My spend to date is €181.73, so I will have to go very carefully to get out on another €100...haven't been very careful at all. With 24 days to go I have just over €4 per day...that should be fun!

Just got back from holiday and I now have to get back into the MSE mode. The fridge was empty when we got back so had to make two dashes to Asda on my way home from work this week – total was approximately £17. We now have enough food to last a few days but I think I’d better do a meal plan for the week so I can pick up any missing ingredients today. On the down side, I’ve been diagnosed with allergy to dairy and the alternatives are fairly expensive. Still, going off dairy will probably do wonders for my weight loss challenge!

Great going to all those who’re doing well and don’t panic to those who aren’t.

P.S – Please count me in as always for £100 for two adults (not including breakfast and lunch on weekdays).
