I'm not doign too badly so far...I've spent 19.26 but only need a few things tomorrow.

Got overcharged in the co-op though and didn't want to make a fuss cos it was only 50p....but am kind of annoyed....50p os 50p after all.

Have a bit of free time so might make the enormous trek to aldi (no car) and see if things are cheap there.

Oooooo..... I always make a fuss if I'm overcharged !! If they did this by a couple of pennies to every customer, just think how much they'd be making out of us

Just of to update my signature. Nipped into Co-Op, and they had 4 tubs of their tomato & mascarpone sauce in clearance (66p each rather than the £1.32 they're currently on offer at). We use quite a lot of this with they're tortellini, but I only buy them on special. My freezer currently has about 40 portions of tortellini, but only 6 of sauce - so I was seriously pleased to get these today (takes me up to 14 portions).

Only problem I've found is how much freezer space they take up with being in round tubs. So today I've emptied each tub into a clean margarine tub, and once frozen I'll move it into bags the same as I do with my bulk cooking :D

This also had the advantage of being able to split one tub in half which will save me even more money in the long run. I normally do a tub between myself and younger DS, but when elder DS is home on leave (and he's phoned today to say he's coming home again this Sunday for a week!) I end up having to do 2 tubs between the three of us. Not any more though :T

Evening all, a nsd for me today making it 3 in all which is great for me..my plan is to manage till Monday as that is going to be my new main shop day, thought I would give it a try as I think I spend more when I go on a weekend (getting stuff for the weekend) but I think I tend to get too much in..anyway will see how it goes, should be ok this weekend as we are going to a 'curry night' at my inlaws tomorrow and then on sunday we are out for a meal as well (not part of the budget, a planned birthday treat)

I may go to aldi though and get the 'super 6' then get meal planning for next week as I have really slipped with this lately..

Have a nice weekend all and happy shopping :-)

    Evening all!

Spent money on the following today:

Hula Hoops 60p - still half price for 7 pack, so stocking up while I can!
    Bread £1.29
    Pizza (Reduced) £1.85
    Pizza (Reduced) £1.79
    Margarine x 2 £1.16 (Half price)
Mince £2 In case I decided to cook "proper" food and freeze the pizza :D
    Pasta sauce £1.43
Red wine for sauce (Small bottle) £1.45
    Beef gravy x 2 £0.24 (Reduced)

So, my total spend for today was £11.83. I wouldn't have had to buy anything, except I forgot to take meat out of the freezer for dinner. Oops!

Off to update my signature now :D

i do in a town/city....but I've just moved to a tiny, gossipy village, and if I said anything, I would become forever known as "that girl who made a fuss about 50p inthe co op" :rotfl::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Another few spends on more milk & a few bits for DD’s pack ups.

Doesn’t leave much in the kitty at all. But there is less than 2 weeks to go now & should actually only need more fresh milk in that time, and plenty for that.

Still have over 60 meal portions in the freezer & masses of meat & fish. So we aren’t exactly going to starve!

Went into Mr S today for a quick shop - £28.00. Got a few things on offer including my favourite pepper sauce which was half price so I picked up 10 of them:D. If this month's challenge goes badly, it will be pepper sauce with everything for the last week:rotfl:

Haven't been able to do very much OS-stuff this week as I've been getting stuff in for the hen do later this week. And it sounds like there a few problems with it anyway, which I hope get sorted out. It is dampening my enthusiasm for it a little. :(

Long story short, I'd probably be better off sitting the rest of this month out and trying again in June. I shall keep trying to be frugal and try to keep to the challenge, and hope things pick up a little.

    Best of luck everyone

  • Hi everyone

I'm late posting this month as it's been absolutely hectic so far, and as you can tell, it's not going well lol. Had some friends stay over for the weekend, completely unplanned, but so much fun.

Won't set a target as it's pretty pointless now considering that I've already spent £30 over my target, but will be catching up and posting anyway.

    Good luck everyone

    Cheers
