Morning all :) Did quite well with our shop last night, but they didn't have any semi or skimmed milk which lasted beyond a couple of days so will probably pick some up over the weekend for the rest of the week. Until then, we will just use the whole milk I got to make sure DD had some and have dried in tea (not keen on whole milk in tea at all - ends up tasting like pud! :p)

I had planned on having a risotto I made during the day to heat up in MW when DD in bed, but on the way to the shop I had the urge for sausage, beans and chips! Picked up 6 lovely organic sausages for 2.18 which I thought was really good - they were thoroughly enjoyed anyway so well worth it - and 2 more in the freezer for another day! :D

I think I forgot to say when declaring my budget, it is for groceries, toiletries and household cleaning stuff, nappies and wipes. We buy all our meat and dairy organic where we can - meat will always be, but sometimes can't find the odd dairy item like cottage cheese (which my Asda seems to have stop stocking altogether the last 2 weeks - can't even find a space on a shelf where it might have once been ) and DH really likes his French-set yogs which aren't O but he's allowed those ;)

    Morning all!
I will have the first spend of the month today when I pop to Aldi and Iceland at lunchtime to pick up some fruit and veg and butter etc. The big shop can wait until tomorrow at Mr Ts but I work near Aldi so will pick up the cheaper bits and pieces while I'm in the area.

I'm trying desperately to meal plan to use up what's in the freezer and to economise a bit and have written a list of stuff that I need to get. I'm also following Slimming World (or supposed to be!) so lots of fresh F&V is part of my daily diet - good for you but its expensive.
I have an OH that's definitely NOT on a diet and needs/wants biscuits and cakes so I'll make a batch of Twinks this weekend to keep him going. I have all of the stuff in to whip those up so that won't cost anything further.

I'll pop on later to update the lunchtime spends - I'll try to keep it low!

Best of luck to everyone else!

I totally failed last month, but have been a lot more organised these last 2 weeks, doing meal plans, only shopping once a week and going it when dd is asleep in the evenings, so this month I WILL stick to it!! £200 please.

On to update my total and to catch up on the posts.Quite a lot for my first week but the freezer is full of whoopsied meat, enough for the entire month.I picked up 2x 1.5 kg shoulder pork joints for £1.50 each and 2 packs of rolled/stuffed belly pork for 30p.Love it when I hit the stores at just the right time.Starting my diet again today and sticking to it for this month and see what I can lose rather than having a weight target, that never seems to work for me.Last night I was like a condemmed prisoner with my last meal.Well in my case lager, bar of chocolate and a wedge of cheese and that was after my lamb garlic masala:rotfl:Have a good weekend everyone.

hi...hope everyone is going well....its a lovely day today which always seems to lift my spirits...also a trip to lakeland helped...i only got the dino bread cutter..£1.95 but could happily have purchased the shop....i noticed they had some lovely coloured bakeware that was 3 for 2 which might help someone if they need new tins

we are having sausage and mash for tea which doesnt match the weather but helps the gc because all bits were reduced:beer: i might d jacket pots in the remoska tomorrow with a salad and im not sure what else....i have developed a taste for salad cream ...i could happily eat it with everything

havent spent any gc money yes in may...but in fairness its early days

hope everyone has a nice bank holiday
