Asda - carrier bags

I honestly find it amasing so many people are in uproar over one supermarket limiting bags given to customers. If youre having such a moan about bags at ASDA, what (if you can) do you do at Costco, Makro, Lidl or Aldi? We don't buy many large things from Costco so our trolley usually ends up a sea of small items, but we still manage to wheel it all the way across the car park and put the items in our boot without the use of a single plastic carrier bag. What do we do at Lidl? We put it in a cardboard box if we need to but usually do the same as we do at Costco. If I don't have the car, I will only buy as much as I can comfortably hold on the bus or in my rucksack. Its silly imo that you need a bag to take your stuff home because you havn't brought your own.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Why didn't you just push your trolley to the car and put the stuff in the bag you had in the boot?
I cant wait for the day our Bin-men come up with the Bin-bag for life, and preach to us about recycling our bin liners to use in the bin.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I have to admit if someone dared ask me that at the till, you can bet your rear hind I would leave everything there at the counter and walk out, even though I am perfectly able to do so.

My mum used to do this all the time, she had 2 or 3 really big bags made out of some sort of woven plastic material but they were too big to lug around the shop. Those bags came to a smelly end when one of our cats was ill.....0 -
I get cross when I want a bag or two at Asda to find I have to pay for them now.
But the same store will send me a stupid amount of the same bags (they never have when insore!) when I order online, usually one item per bag. Theres no sense to it.
I have my big Tesco bag for lifes left in the boot of the car so here's hoping I remember to take them out for my next Asda instore shop!0 -

Some people can not have a Makro or Costco card especially Costco as you have to either run your own business or be of a certain profession. I think we should vote with our feet and not bother shopping at asda, I don't get this sort of grief when I go to sainsburies or morrisons. Considering asda's profits are up in the credit crunch they have a cheek penalising us for forgetting a few bags either they want our custom or not

I can honestly say I have not had a problem at either of the two Asda shops I sometimes go to.
I try and have my own bags but if I forget I have always been offered bags, never asked to pay for them and that suits me fine.
I use the self scan tills a lot and there are bags there and unlike M&S they don't ask you to click and pay if you have used one of theirs - yet!0 -
I find it strange that M&S charge 5p for their normal carrier bags, yet don't charge for their slightly smaller Food2Go bags!Watch this space...0

I personally don't mind paying for a bag (even the crappy free ones), but I refuse to be dictated to or scorned at for simply not having one at hand, no matter which store it is.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Presumably keeping the sandwich customers rather than lose them all to Pret A Manger or Boots rates higher on their agenda than pretending to care about plastic use?0 -
I dont mind paying for bags, as long as everybody is singing the same tune.
Again I hate been told at one till that free bags are no longer available, yet one till along is giving free bags out.
If supermarkets are changing for bags, they need to make that point clear
or stop treating us like criminals for not having any.0
