Welcome along Megan, you'll like it here. You've done well doing a whole list already! Toots and Pigpen will be along to welcome you soon.

Hex, you are doing well with all your DIY!

Soappie, yay, plan B has lift off! You can do it!

Lil_me well done on what you've done - focus on your achievements, not how much you have left to do! Then you will feel more incentivised (is that a word?)

I'm watching the Biggest Loser, and am going to slowly get some more done while watching it, and hopefully find something for dinner.

Do you think it's less fattening to eat a bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk instead of a bowl of Carte D'or ice cream? Hope so, cos that's what I've just had, really wanted ice cream! Don't have any chocolate in the house, only got cereal bars here now. Don't know how long it will be til I succumb to the choc, but for at least today I won't be having any!

Rosepink - the DIY is fits and starts as we have funds, the house needs it. Previous family had been in for 50 odd years and, understandably given that they were both in their 90s, hadn't done anything much for a long time. We bought at the screamingly tight end of our budget so have little left for the refurb. If we do a storecupboard month this month we should be able to get the stuff for the family bathroom ordered, no more avacado baths for me!

Flower - the old bathroom ceiling was painted in a nasty green gloss paint (probably to block mould, like the varnish under the wallpaper elsewhere). Am I best to hack the plaster off and start again or is there something I can paint over it that will take do you know? The walls can breathe so not hugely needing the ceiling to do so.

The flinging continues, DH cannot make a start on my bookcases till I clear the long term junk stored in the corridoor. I have to say it is lovely to have a wardrobe again after two years without.

Some of you may have gathered from Facebook that we have had to have our elderly lurcher put to sleep earlier this week due to a brain tumour. Please no sympathy, I am better not being reminded of it. Between this and a challenging week at work it has been hard to keep on top of other stuff this week so apologies to anyone I have not answered/posted parcels too (still), etc.

Just made brownies for pudding as DSS2 will find out about poor Masie Moo when he arrives so will need cheering up. Now need to S&S my kitchen again though.....

There is a paint called 'Zinzer' available from Decorator Centres (you won't find it in B&Q and the like) and I would recommend that - you will have to give it a light sand first though to get a key, I would recommend that with any painting anyway, but then it should be fine. It is quite runny, like the old type of gloss but is the best undercoat type of stuff out there and covers anything (Have used it on varnished pine ceilings before painting in a house once). But if it is just gloss, why not try undercoat for a cheaper option? (again, don't forget to sand to cut into it so the paint will stay there)

    Hi girls & guys...

Not caught up yet, just read the last page but will try in a bit...

Am back from Grand Designs, it was lovely and I didn't spend any money, which is even better (well. apart from the extortionate £10 parking fee ) but I am poggered :rotfl:as the A13 was shut and it took 2 hours to drive there when it is usually only 30 mins PLUS on the way home, it was blocked AGAIN but I managed to turn off just in time and went up the club for a well deserved half! ;):D but now I am home and ready to clean, the house is tidy downstairs and I did the bathroom except the floor before I left this morning, so I will get some dinner on (I'M STARVING!) and then get on... see you in a bit...

*Dashing in and straight out again..*

Beautiful day today, so I've been flying on the allotment and in the garden. DD is having the girls round for her birthday party (actual b'day next Friday) and as the weather is so wonderful, they're having a barbecue and lots of children's games in the garden! So, had to clear loads of bags of rubbish to the tip, cut the grass, and generally sweep up - all looking pretty now!

    Back later...

Haven't achieved any stars at all this week. I have done bits and pieces, but it's just been such a busy week - even busier than usual - and while I usually get a chance to do a bit of catching-up on weekends, we are away for the next couple of days, so I'll see you all on next week's thread

    Hi All

went for my induction this morning, and met my girlies for lunch which was nice.

Found out something not nice about the new ex-Mr Jo...... Put it this way - Im now much happier he is my ex.

Took little one swimming after school today with his little mate as a reward for doing ALL of his work today - a big thumbs up from the teacher! So swimming was the reward. Im off to do a bodypump class soon..... so all in all its been a good day!

Flying wise, I have done all washing and drying - which ive been putting in on my various 5-minute stops at home before rushing off somewhere else - well last wash is on, and will dry it when I come back from the gym. Ironing is all on the sofa waiting for me when i come back.

Am going to change all the beds, have done mine and littleys - but need to put clean back on the spare room. Am going to hoover and dust all the rooms then leave it at that for this week. I will empty the bins and things like that, but Im not going to try and catch up with the list as it will get the better of me this week.

There are no floordrobes to clear or anything like that, so I will put away what I iron and all the rooms will be good, but Ive lost track of the lists! Sorry xx
will try harder to stay on track next week.

And big hugs and huge round of applause to all of you guys who are doing much better at the flying than me!! xxxxx

    Will start again next week!

Glad you've had a good day today. What was your induction for? Glad to hear LO did his school work! And intrigued to hear what Ex-Mr Jo has done!

I'm off to find some dinner. DH is home and isn't hungry so I think I will have tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwich. Haven't had it for ages!
