My son has severe excema needing four layers of bandages and a similar routine to mumoffour77 so I can sympathise,I agree with what you say about less disruption as that stresses my son even more which results in more scratching etc

He is in year 10 now so is 15 and still gets bullied because of it,it has got worse since he got to Secondary school as he went to the village school when younger and everyone knew him so accepted him how he was

He also has a scribe and is even granted extra time for exams to reduce any stress

Mumoffour77 Have you managed to fill those forms in for your DD?

Mumofour...No definately not ,her doctor or dermatology nurse has to sign it too and write a short statement which shows you are telling the truth ,you really need to do this you are missing out on up to £270 a month

Im not trying to tell you what to do but it makes me mad when people think Excema is a bit of dry skin,it is a serious and can be deadly illness with no cure only some alleviation of symptoms if you are lucky

You need to describe her worst ever day in minute detail, please do it,If only you lived nearer I would come and help you, just remember once its done it will be set for 3 years

You are certainly NOT the worst mum in the world but one of the best, to cope with Excema is very hard all my 3 sons have it,but the 15 year old is the worst although they all have the same treatment believe me I want to sit in a corner and cry some days wrapping 3 children is no joke I can tell you

    Hi

Just a quick post to say I am back and hoping to fly properly and will try to post each day rather than going awol midweek. Have had some issues with OH over the last month that I was postponing until he got back to work (which he's not yet) but they came to a head, we've sorted them out and are both much happier.

Would have been back yesterday but couldnt get a broadband signal at all.

Off now to cook some tea, bit more on kitchen from yesterday and maybe a little in our bedroom the room of gloom

Will catch up with fred later too

    Kaz xx

I have hoked the forms out and they are sitting in front of me!!!
I know what you mean re people thinking its just a bit of dry skin........and usually DD is beside me so I can prove them wrong!! It can be annoying:D.....DDs teacher has already said that i should fill out the forms and so did the Gp (and he doesnt say things like that lightly)

Not much flying gonna be done tonight tho;)
But i will fill out the forms!!!

    More of a productive afternoon:

Tyre fixed. £25 for a patch up job. Is that a lot
    Well its done anyway.
Paid DS party balance, the place it is at seems hopelessly disorganised tho we've been to a party there and DS really enjoyed it. Nt too dear either , £55 for 1hr of instructor led team games like dodgeball and football, (ie I dont have to organise 16 small boys thank god) and then half an hour in the party tea room, food provided by us.

Bought DH birthday bits, all he wanted was yummy nibbles so we got wine, lots of fancy crisps and nuts, and olives. He will love it. And a Monsters Vs Aliens cake that the kdis thought was fab and are very concerned about how many portions each they will get :rotfl:

We got back so late from getting the tyre fixed that tea (fishfingers) is only cooking now, almost ready. Waiting for the peas.

House still a tip, hope DH home not too late then I can whizz round while he does bedtime etc
    Will be back later

I am so pleased to hear that, please if you have any problems at all I am only a post away,I last filled one in last Oct for DS2 so dont think they will have changed at all.

Dont struggle on your own I will help in any way I can,Also I dont know your circumstances re your OH but you can also claim Carers Allowance

Once you have been accepted you can claim help once a year from the Family Fund(saying that I need to claim mine ,havent done so for a couple of years) they help with Driving lessons,WMs TD, Holidays and the like

Forget the flying Im sure Pigpen and Toots will agree with me,the forms are more important tonight

    Good Luck

If you ever need to phone an 0870 number again check on this website first. You can often find an alternative freephone or local call rate number

    http://www.saynoto0870.com/

Thanks Sharon - I did try them first but when I rang the alternative number they said they couldn't help me and couldn't put me through!

I'm still here!! Had a disastrous week last week - simply could not get my backside out of holiday mode so everything slipped. :o Am determined to get back on top of things though as it's so much nicer and easier to deal with when I do things a little each day....... Will take things steady this week I think so expect to see very few extras being dealt with. I'm just starting another bout of tonsillitus too so saw the Doc earlier and have anti-b's for the next week, another reason to take it steady as I know from experience I'll knock myself sideways if I do too much until I'm clear of it. :p
