    Happy Birthday Maralum

The ground floor was looked lovely up until the boys came home, now back to mild CHAOS. I can't wait till they have their own rooms and can make a mess upstairs. I have made a start on our BR, the LR, the bathroom and the boys bed room. Need to get on top and stay there this week.

Step 2 of Hoarder to Order fits in really well here.
    Carrier Bag Challenge:
    • The aim is to recognise clutter at a glance and make snappy decisions about what to keep and what to let go.
    • Start with the messiest room in the house - quickly snatch and grab unwanted objects and put them in a carrier bag.Move on to next room until the bag is full.
    • Trust yourself - if your first instinct is to get rid of something, it goes straight into bag
    • Do this on your own when you have 15 minutes of uninterrupted time. Don't answer the phone or get sidetracked.
    • Feel good about donating to charity. Choose a cause to boost your motivation.
Once filled, write down how you feel. Were you frightened?

Suggestions of things to throw: unloved presents; anything associated with bad memories or unhappy times; multiple copies of the same thing - mugs, etc; stuff broken beyond repair.
Don't take anything out of the bag once it's in there; don't throw away other peoples possessions; don't add valuable heirlooms.

Great stuff but I can spot a fundamental flaw there! It isn't my junk that is the problem.

  • :j Monday star please :j

really chuffed that I managed to get a star at the beginning of the week but was easier as the kitchen was done at the weekend so didn't need too much effort tonight. Did do the food cupboard though - yuk (but not yuk now :D

No chance of a star tomorrow as bedroom really needs attention as wasn't done last week (although did floordrobe last night). Tutoring tomorrow so may manage HCC so will aim for that and then try and finish it later in the week. Really needs more than level one.

Going to watch final of Hells Kitchen (SKy+ed it so can skip the ads) then bed. Night all.

Good luck with your exam Carol - positive vibes for you.

ho hum I suppose I should make a list. I have a dry wipe board in the kitchen with my home to do list - paying bills etc -on it - and its getting a bit full, so I need to actually get some things done off it.

    Home To Do:

Wrtite out and hand out DS party invitations
Order DS and D new bedroom bits as reward for dry at night
    Make solicitor appointment
    Pay balance of DS party
    Send cousin's birthday card
Buy birthday bits for DH (lot of birthdays around)
    Make appt for kids' haircuts
Sort in-tray on top of microwave
Get DH to read water meter
Transfer some calendar details onto PC
Put 2009 diary pages (!!) into filofax (before year over!!)
    File care breakdown paperwork properly
Get DH to put old curtains up in loft

Monday - Kitchen and dining room
    Level One

    Clear and wipe worksurfaces
Scrub down the front of units and large appliances
    Level Two
    Wipe and replace small appliances
    Clean oven and hob

    Level Three
Wipe the table and chairs... clean cloth if necessary
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Degunge the fridge!

related to my DS party related items, does anyone know where I can buy Star Wars paper plates and napkins ? I was hoping for an actual shop, not online as I have already shelled out for postage for invitations and I dont want to shell out more on postage.
Tried Asda and Sainsburys so far.
Dont want to traipse over to ToysRUs as I will be so hacked off if they dont have them. Their choice always seems quite random eg cups not plates etc.
