Can I have a Visa Debit with NatWest??

  • Just ordered mine through NatWest Actionline, the bloke went away to speak to a supervisor to get instructions on "how to do it" (Change me over from Solo to Visa).

He came back two minutes later saying he had ordered me one and I should get it within a week, until then I can continue to use my Solo Card.

Incidentally I didnt say my card was damaged or lost or anything, I just said something like "I believe you issue Visa Debit cards now - can I have one to replace my Solo".

Thanks - I'll let him know. Although he might have to report his cards as lost as he has 2 accounts and I'm not sure they'll believe that both chips have suddenly gone wrong!!

As I said earlier though, people don't need to fib, you can just call up and say you'd prefer to have a Visa Debit card and they will order one for you, no need for people to be coming out with elaborate excuses :o

    Cheers! Will let him know.

As he can't have telephone banking (he's under 16) can he still phone for a new card or does he have to go into a branch?

  • He'd probably need to pop into a branch, however you could try calling the branch support number, just ring Actionline and ask for the number for his branch and give them a call, sometimes they can help out on things like this, others they can say you'll have to go in but worth a shot!

  • TBH, I dont think they will give him a full visa debit (could be wrong tho) Solo/ electron cards are for kids and tesco etc dont accept them online because of this. Basically if he had a full visa debit he could order alcohol/ cigarettes online without age verifacation
  • No worries, glad to be of help :o

Since your son is under 16, he will definately get a VISA debit (full authorisation).

If you call the branch number and get through to branch support line ask them to get branch to call back, they can order over the phone for you if th esupport team can't
