I'm not sure what a realistic target is per month (I am unemployed due to disability at the moment) but maybe set the bar for me at £25?

I'll count what I have saved so far this month later and get back to you if that's okay?
  • Welcome Miroslav, nice to have you joining in with us. Sorry to hear you are unemployed and disabled, very difficult circumstances. Please post as much as you like, it will be encouraging for you and for us! Let us know how much you have saved

Pockets, don't worry about not reaching your goal - that's why it's a goal, it's something to strive for, you might not reach it straight away, but you will get there eventually, so keep trying! Did you have a nice holiday?

Focus, glad to hear you have added to your pot, keep going, little and often is good

  • The holiday was good, but the diet is now starting in earnest to make up for the copious amounts of clotted cream and deserts! It wasn't an exotic or exciting holiday really - Isle of Wight but we've been there so many times that it really does feel like home. We've been every year (more or less) since I was about three and I'm now 27.

 Very difficult circumstances, but one I am used too and hope won't be forever :)

My pot for September is £17.10, so another £7.90 to reach my goal. I'm going shopping tomorrow, so that should bring some change and i'm owed some money by flatmate, so the change from that will be added :)

Good luck everyone in finding those extra pence and pounds :D

£2.67 change from today and another possible shopping trip tomorrow :o plus flatmate still owes me and loose change from that will go towards the September pot!

    So now at £19.77 :)
  • paid another 40quid in pound coins in to bank today, figured there wasnt enough other change to be worth counting it out yet, think ill do that once a month if i remember.
  • Sorry for ignoring this thread for so long Peeps. My brother got married the day after August's payday and I've had no money to spend since that day!! :rotfl:Still, it's payday on Friday and back to having cash on me :D

I paid £22 into the bank a week ago, but I'm not sure if I can count that as it covered a bill for the month rather than going into savings :o

I'm glad you guys are still hard at it. Thanks for the motivation :T

  • Yeah you can count it Kate, the idea of this thread is to get out of debt - if you've avoided debt by paying a bill, all the better! Well done!
