Hi all, got £5.68 in the jar so not a bad start. Going to check my purse in a minute and see what else I can add. Day off tomorrow and need to do a major cleaning/tidying session so will be on the lookout for pennies to add to the collection!0

I found it on a table indoors Focus - amongst DH's gibble!
Well done YorkshireLass for getting off to a good start. Did you find any more money when you were tidying up?
How are you Lesley?
DH gave me 6p today so I've put that in my piggybank - when it's full I will count up all my coppers and 5p's and see if I can bank anything.
Hope you are all having a good weekend! I'm so hungry, DH is doing dinner tonight (yay!) but he always takes ages to cook! I could chew my arm off!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hi, hope everyone is OK this morning. At least its Sunday and the suns shining! Feeling a bit guilty this morning. My brother and family came to visit yesterday and spent the day with us. We had a great time, my brother lives at the other end of the country so I dont see him very often. The problem was that I had to feed them all for the day. I tried to do it as MSE as I could, cooking and baking myself etc, but I still spent a fortune in Tesco. Do I sound really mean? I dont begrudge spending the money on my family its just Ive got debts to pay and the car needs its MOT this week.
Would hate my brother to know I am in debt btw, he lives a very different life to me. Also I know family is more important than anything else and I did really enjoy spending the time with them. Maybe I should just say stuff the money/debt situation for once.
Oh well, just have to hope and pray the garage bill isnt too much. Sorry for the ramble!0 -
Lesley, the tablets can do that - I really suffered with dizziness coming off them a few years ago. You should let your doctor know, but the side effects should wear off when your body gets used to the tablets (this can take a few weeks). I would go and let your GP know in case they want to adjust the dosage/change type or something. Still getting headaches and am v tired today, but its all ok. Headaches not as bad.
Yorkshire, I know exactly what you mean, it's nice to be hospitable and they are your family but you have lots of money worries and every penny counts. I guess maybe it's something to budget for, or you could use the money from your loose change pot to feed them next time they come! Could you syphon off £5 per month to a seperate account so that when they come again you have some money free to buy food with? Just ideas, hope some of them help.
Hope the MOT is ok - scary times! I know the feeling!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

yorkshire rosepinks idea about putting money aside is a great idea, if you can do you should try it. only a few quid here and there when you can afford it and it will soon mount up. and like you said they do live far so it wouldnt be often.
To be honest all my money is allocated to bills, rent and bits&pieces so i dont have much money for spending but i do like to spend on my family. i just try and deduct it from my allocated spend money if that makes sense. rather splash out on all the people i love than on something material that i dont even really need.
rosepink are you now not working? how are you? havent really spoken to you properly for awhile. everything ok?0 -
Found another 20p that DH left lying around! Yay! I've relocated it! :rotfl:
Focus, yeah I'm ok thanks. Slowly destressing and trying to get into a routine. This is the first week where I have no appointments with doctors and stuff so am trying to see what works for me and how I want to spend my time. I've also got a lot to do before the weekend as we are going away on Sunday to stay at my parents house while they are away, so have got to get everything ready. That's making me a bit stressed, but I've calmed down now I've written myself a schedule for tomorrow. Things seem more manageable!
