I have managed to find out that the parcel was scanned in to Sheffield yesterday around 2pm. But no change that I can find out at the moment. I'm back on the road Friday night. It would be nice to have the package before then.
Thanks for the info and insight.
It should have left Sheffield this morning and been delivered to you today. I can only assume there must have been a glitch, unless it is a three to five day service. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I was told a 3 day service0

It is likely then to turn up tomorrow, that would be three days. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Stick with Royal Mail, they seem to be able to get deliveries ordered from a company in Ireland at 3pm delivered to a UK address by 10am next day, and this is via their standard service, not next day or special delivery!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Warning to QVC customers - it seems they are also now using Hermes for some of their deliveries. A package I had been advised had been sent on Aug 5th still hadn't arrived by this Monday so I called QVC. According to the Hermes records they had attempted to deliver on several occasions even though I was at home all day on at least 2 of the dates given and no card has been left advising they have tried to deliver. On Tuesday they advised QVC the courier still had the package and it would be delivered yesterday. After staying in all day still no delivery and now today I have been told it is now being returned to QVC, who can't intercept it, and so as the product is now out of stock somebody who has waitlisted the item will now get my item instead! Ok so QVC are refunding all my costs but that's not the point - if the Hermes courier did their job properly we wouldn't have got to that stage.0

QVC have been using Hermes for over three years.
It does seem a bit odd that "several" attempts were made to deliver, but was unsuccessful. How many times did QVC say that the courier had tried? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I would be asking what address they are attempting to deliver to?0

Parcel arrived. Badly dented and ripped. The courier wouldnt stay and discuss the situation. Just saying "Wasnt me looking inside".
Rang Hermes who refused to deal with me or give me an average timeline on how long damage claims take to settle.
Why do I get feeling this is all going to go wrong?
PS. Forgot to say on opening the parcel it was clear parts were damaged. Which makes this item unusable.0 -

It is something that you need to discuss with your supplier. Hermes do not have a contract with you and cannot offer any remedy. If there is any claims to be made, you make them with your supplier and they in turn make a claim with Hermes.
What was the damage? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
