Morning OS friends! hi.gif
hgballoons.gifgunsandbanjos hon - hope you have fun and welcome2.gif to the thread ashbart!
Ravy - yes honey, it's amazing when you consider they gave Tris til about Feb if he was lucky. And then to come out of the 10 day coma.. this guy is hanging on with every fibre and I am so so happy he is feeling so much better. Oh, and on a different note - I think aubergines are the devils food!! Can't stand them, so it's you and me babes..
notanothergreyhair - See if you can find someone who stocks locally made honey. Apparently if you eat some daily it builds up your resistance to the local pollen.
Dazi and Penpen - My aunty Sally is really chuffed that people are making her apple cake! All I did to the recipe she used all through my childhood was to add the spices as I like the flavours.
Nic1 - Thank you for posting and keeping us up to date. Still thinking of you honey.
Halight - I DO hope you are Ok..

My spring onion seeds arrived yesterday so planted some of those up in a trough. My OH has been bringing home the used coffee cups from the vending machine and I have been using them to put up seedlings to save buying any more little pots. I just prod a few holes in the bottom. They have been really useful.

My OH bought some pukka pies reduced to 30p each so for last nights dinner we had cheesy mash, baked beans and a pie each. Was actually very delicious.

I did something a bit money saving yesterday. My OH came back from the fish and chip shop (he had sausage and chips for lunch while out) with 2lbs of fish bits for the cat. They were all about 2 inches long and about an inch fat and cost just 25p a lb! We cooked them briefly and then I went through it, took all the skin off and removed the rather sharp and deadly bones (they had about five diagonally across each piece). Took me ages but I have a huge amount of fish for a fish pie now and the cat has had three bowlfuls and is now refusing to eat any more! No idea what fish it is, but it breaks into nice white chunks so it might be cod. I feel rather pleased with myself. Fish pie for Sunday lunch this week!

Too early to tell what the weather is going to do though they forecast a break in all the sunshine we have had all week. Tristan should be logging on shortly for a chat so that will be lovely.
Warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who wants one - do something nice for yourself today.

Morning. Wet and windy here, Looks like Cornwall got clobbered with the rain. Might brighten up this afternoon.

Day off so not sure what the plans are. First thing is to get the window on the car repaired. Thankfully my neighbour found a spare glass from an old car at his garage and so he will put that in later.

A chap down the street just got 4 1/2 years in prison for growing cannabis. He was doing it on rather a large scale in an extension he built. He will have to sell his house too to pay the asset seizure order too. I guess crime did'nt pay..

Well, Best let the animals out and then make some coffee.

    Cheers

    Morning Everyone

I'm treating myself to a brew and a quick catch up on here before I launch myself into the day.It is Saturday after all:D

I've had a leisurely start to my day and it feels delicious. The kids are still in bed so all is quiet and peaceful.I've got some Bread and Yoghurt to make later.Hubby has discovered his perfect dessert for when he's dieting, fresh strawberries and yoghurt with a tsp of splenda sprinkled ontop. So he's getting through loads of strawberries and yoghurt.Well at least its one of his five a day.Got a couple loads of washing to do and get out on the line as by the look of it its going to be another lovely warm day.A small pile of ironing also awaits me but I'm going to be a bad girl and make it wait until tomorrow.Still got half a tub of double cream in the fridge so think I'll make that into some vanilla ice-cream and store it in the freezer till I need it.I'll be off into town after that lot as I promised to meet Hubby for lunch and i'll take the kids for a walk along the canal and a trip to the park afterwards. My local team (Burnley) are playing at Southampton today and if we can secure a win we are in the play offs for a Premiership place. So come on you Clarets!!!!!!!

MSD-I'm dead chuffed for you that Tristan is feeling so well and lets hope it continues for a long time and well done on the fish pie you have miles more patience than me

PP-Hope today is a good one for you healthwise

DD&D-Have you got to the end of your planting out yet?

Hester-was reading your blog yesterday and its a damn shame you arent in a union because there is no way they should be treating you like that at work its outrageous. But its weekend and no work for two days so hope you have a good one

    Good Morning All

Very impressed with your fish pie MSD very MSE

Having a slow start this morning and just about to have a bath. OH is concreting the garden today with his df & 2 friends so I will be in charge of coffees and hot dogs. Wont be able to get out in the garden so no washing today.

However as I have done so much washing over the last couple of days I have 3 massive piles of ironing so my aim today is to get that totally cleared.

DS will probably play out with his mates and DD is off to a friends for a sleepover tonight. Have changed my mind about what was on the menu and am now thing lasagne as can get that made this morning.

Made HM sausage rolls yesterday and they are lovely, will definately be doing them again.

Had quite a relaxing day in the end yesterday, DS didnt go out so I spent some time with him, watched Boy in the Striped Pyjama's and he helped with the baking. In the morning we had breakfast at MC's and popped into tesco's for some essentials. He is really good company & it was lovely.

Anyway, off now for a surf and to do my free scratchcard.

    Have a great Saturday.

Hi there hope I can join in. Been a lurker for a while now and did post a while back before the boys and myself had to move back in with my parents.

Well the weather seems ok here. Had rain last nite but on the upside the boys and myself spent the night at DP house so was kinda nice to have the family feeling for a change. Really miss that. Although also feel 12 again having to live with my parents and the way they are.

A quiet day today I think as am back to work after 3 months off after a botched sinus op. Having to have another as still got and infection after 6 loads of antibiotics and still in pain. The joys.

Hello to all above and hope to get to know you all soon have a good saturday xx
Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hugs and Hi

MSD - very nice fish pie, evil cat would like to know if she is invited.

Any opinions - little bear needs lightweight curtains on windows 46 x 76 inches. Awkward length  and radiator just below it. I have made curtains before but don't think I would be able to at the moment, seriously considering two light weight throws with heading tape glued on.

Good morning everyone & a big welcome to any new posters :T It's looking sunny outside so far and a good breeze. Yesterday stayed cloudy but dry so it wasn't too bad. I pottered about in the garden & am hopeful that the copper tape - Thank you Diva - will arrive before the lettuce seedlings become irresistable for the slugs  I've currently got coffee grounds on top of the compost & vaseline around the top of the pots :rotfl:

I'm doing a big pan of minestrone soup & part baked baguettes for dinner this evening. Lunch is a pasta salad made with leftover pasta & salady bits in the fridge. I'll probably make a fruit salad for pudding as well as some of the furit in the bowl needs using up. 1st load of washing on the line blowing away I'm just waiting for the 2nd one to finish.

I have'nt caught up on yesterday's thread yet so ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to all that need one. Have a good Saturday & take some time out to relax for 15 minutes if possible.

Edited to add : Well done Grandmasam :T Looks like you've cracked the smileys!

    Morning all
It rained earlier but is lovely & sunny no, still the lodger didn't mind going out in the rain.
WS that sounds like a good idea, using throws.
Amonsgst other general housework, I need to vacuum through once the lodger has gone & give the floors a good wash, I kept on top of it the first 2 weeks of her stay, but this week have only managed to vacuum as by the time I get home I'm ready for bed, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    good morning

the sun is shining here but I gather it wont last so I have the WM on to try and get it out early to dry before the weather turns
MSD well done with the fish pie, I have another token if you still need it , let me know I think I still have your address
    Teresita welcome its lovely here
Essex girl It was such a good drying day yesterday I ended up with a HUGE pile of ironing - which I did last night :A

today DD2 is at a sleepover
DD1 is doing a citizens project at school. It involves all of the year 10's and they have organised a fayre, DD1 is selling bric-a-brac and all the proceeds go to the British Heart Foundation. It has been hard work she has been ringing BHF to organise collecting tins, health leaflets banners etc, I think she has really enjoyed doing it . so we are off to have a look round later ( and no doubt it will cost me a fortune lol)

I am hoping the rain will stay away as I want OH to finish trimming the conifers as I couldnt reach the tops

I have planted my tumbling tom seeds at last :j I found some spring onion seeds too so will plant those later

I hope everyone has agreat day

((((((((hugs)))))))) to all who need x

Oh, and on a different note - I think aubergines are the devils food!! Can't stand them, so it's you and me babes..

Me either :D count me in.

Morning all, looks like its been raining all night, but its lovely now, first load in on the washing line, and 2nd in the wm, I have a 3rd load too, which consists of OH work clothes, and I like to wash his jeans seperatly on a boil wash, so maybe 4 loads to do .

Need to hoover through, ad mop the floors, dd is off out with her dad today, and OH and I and little dog are going out in the kayak :T:T:T. Will try and get some photos for my FB, but do not want to get the camera wet so will think about that one

Pizza and salad for tea, nice and easy, perhaps OH will cook tonight. DD cooked beef crumble last night, which was delish, she cooked it beautifully, but lets just say, the stuffing had quite a wind making effect on us all :o (well me especially :rotfl:)

All my seedlings are doing well, apart from my cucumbers which just have not started, think I will get more seeds today, and start off a new batch, and I want to get tome tumbling toms, I have lots of normal toms, but have a hanging basket which needs filling

    Hugs to Nic xxxx

Halight, big hugs to you too xx

Welcome to Teresita and ashbart x

Ok off for another cuppa, have good days all.
