BEING REAL????????? A better life? dont make me sick, you have no idea you think coz i have money in the bank that makes everything ok oh yes my life is great being told your kids wont ever lead a "normal life" one day in my life would not even make up for a whole years stress to you! And yes i pay tax and have done since being 16 dont be so ignorant to other peoples lives...THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your honesty. At least someone has the balls to say it. 25k in benefits!!! That's bloody ridiculous.
And to top it all off, you also have 30k in savings for a deposit!!! !!!!!!!!!
Just a reminder of the state that this country is in and before anyone tells me off for being horrible, I'm not, I'm being real!!!
I am sick of working, studying, paying all these taxes and NI conts and for what? To pay for others to have better lives than I do?
Too much cross subsidising goes on in this country.0 -
I don't understand why people who draw such benefits shouldn't have savings. I doubt newly redundant homeowners would be happy if they were to say "OK- you can have £X per week, but only after we've valued your house and worked out how much you're worth.0

Before "mainstreaming" the government took the financial risk of disability - a child who was disabled was effectively removed from their family, and the 'costs' of looking after them were shifted to the state. Nowadays, the risk falls on us parents. If disability results from an accident, and there was negligence, you might eventually get a payout. If it is a genetic accident or you can't find anyone to blame, the financial hit is yours. And it costs a lot more to care for a child with a disability. Remember paying for nappies? Imagine carrying on doing that for 10 or more years (the incontinence service is useless, believe me). Remember the days before after school care? Imagine you can't get any and what that means for your ability to earn.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

And before anyone has a go, my niece is severely disabled.
She is 12, can't talk, can't walk, is in nappies, doesnt know who we are, is uncontrollable and is extremely violent (through frustration). Her mother's dad died and she was left with a bit of money and because of this she couldnt get any financial help.
I do apologise to the OP, I was just venting.
Emmalita,
As I said, I apologise.
I jumped the gun and had only read the first couple of posts before mouthing off. I sincerely apologise to you.
I help to look after my disabled niece a few days/nights a week and it is not easy at all. I commend you.
Once again, I apologise and wish you all the best in life!!!!!Slimming world member since 18 January 2010Current weight = 194 lbsFirst goal = 168 lbs by 3 May 2010Progress = 0/26 lbsSecond goal = 154 lbs by 21 June 2010Final goal = 133 lbs by 27 September 20100
