Can I limit my daughter's monthly bill

Very true. The billing systems on most, if not all, of the networks don't run in real time. With X million customers on line they can't keep up. There are a few dept's that have a real time view, but billing isn't one of them. . .0

Thanks to all who replied. I'll make enquiries and let you know. I too can't believe a teenage girl can spend so much time speaking to her friends on the phone, when half of them live around the corner, but she does and I want to make sure I'm not going to get a ridiculous bill at the end of the month. Thanks again0

I believe some networks used to allow you to put a cap on the bill that could be accumulated per month, but it didn't work for reasons best known to themselves and they scrapped it. Best going in to a phone shop and asking, but DON'T let them talk you into some ridiculously overpriced contract.
Sorry not very helpful I know. And why on Earth does your daughter need a £40/month contract?! Have you any idea how many thousands of minutes and texts you can get for less than that?
I'm with Rev Henry on this one. Mobile phones are handy and there are many good reasons for having one, but they are not essential. One of the reasons that many of us use MSE and the reason that so many in the UK are in financial difficulty (myself included) is that we have made mistakes with money - not saving, overspending, over-extending on credit. We owe it to the next generation to make sure that they do not make the same mistakes. Allowing a child or teenager to spend £40 plus every month on phone calls when a) there are cheaper ways of doing it b) they don't have a job and c) somebodyelse is footing the bill, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.0 -

Nope, Flext has always behaved like that. You must be thinking of U-Fix.0
