Hi all from down under. I got engaged when we threw a party at our house. It was great lots of hairy people buying drinks and having a good time. We had a rock disco at the wedding too. Happy memories.
Whilst we didn't cut corners exactly, we did scout around. Eg we found a venue that would let us bring in outside caterers. This saved us a fortune on the reception and evening do.. We had a friend do the disco (for the rpice of all the beer he could drink and a bed for the night), the same for the photographs.
When it comes right down to it, you HAVE to feel comfortable on YOUR (ie your and soon to be OH) DAY. Otherwise seriously it will be something that will come between you in the future.
The weather is also turning sour down here as well. Have had a great work out today, running up and down two flights of stairs to get the washing in everytime it rained.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Dinah, you can be very scary! (in a good way of course!) and are almost tempting me into doing a sig. Though at the moment that is a waaaayyy to scary idea!
I was wondering though,...I am registered to retaileyes, Gap and Grassroots and they never seen to have any near me. I look nearly everyday and im starting to think i may have done something wrong. Any tips/ideas?
p.s HORRIBLE weather down south today!Trying my hardest to change...Mummy to a beautiful princess born 06/11/110 -
I'll have to call them up and see if they can get me onto their system then! I hate having a new postcode, it is so much hassle! The bank where we have our Mortgage don't even have our postcode on their system, they paid for a flat that doesn't exist!
I think the threat of you coming around banging a Birdie Drum has scared me into sorting myself out!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Have you got postcodes added on for work areas, any other areas you travel too etc? My big tip you be to subscribe (instant email) to the ALERTS! MS email on the up your income board, jobs on RE go within 5 mins, and they don't email to say when new ones are up. Gap do email, but about 24 hours after they go up so the in demand locations are already taken. Grassroots email immediately, but they have only a few clients so not much work. Try registering with GFK, they email when new work goes up and they pay well, and for some reason not many people seem to work for them.
I think I deserve a sig for all that insider info Sam
I'm gonna come bang my Birdie drum at some point anyway, don't want the meet to be a one off. Promise I'll be less manic if we meet again!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I don't really want to brag... but it is beyoootiful weather where I am!
Sam, I'm with Gap and the only jobs that come up for me are in McDonalds, I did one there on Saturday so I'm not really sure if I can keep going back! Thanks for that, I have all my work areas etc in, but I will register with GFK and see what that brings...also am about to go off and subscribe to the email alerts! (As you can see another busy day at work!)
Just written down my debts, and it is very scary  and so I think I will build myself up to putting the sig on! I mean you have cleared so much I am in awe I must admit!
You have made me very jealous about the weather...I am sat next to the window looking out at the grey skys! And listening to the bloke behind me moan like usual!Trying my hardest to change...Mummy to a beautiful princess born 06/11/110 -
I bet I felt as scared as you when I realised how much debt I had, but it's only posting on here that managed to get me to shift it. My flatmate told me she was moving out and I calculated my incomings and outgoings once she'd gone and realised I was seriously short, that forced me to work out just how short and why. Then NIM laid down the gauntlet and there was no stopping me!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Morning everyone!
All this talk of MS is making me feel guilty for never doing it! Keep asking Dinah for advice then never doing it. Anyway have decided that once my exams are finished i am making it my personal mission to make as much money as possible for our move to the Midlands. Once i have finished uni i only have a part time job lined up and thats only temporary until we move, so theoretically i should have plenty of time for money making!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
It is pretty amazing though-you must be really proud of yourself!
Well i have worked out £7121 worth of debt:eek:, but that includes £750 to my boyfriend that I pay back by £60 per month standing order. I also have a loan, but that was for my car, and again, thats paid monthly (and I got an excellent interest rate as OH works for the bank) so i cant really change that (thats not included in the £7121)
It just seems such a mountain to climb and Im not sure where to start, though from reading this thread I have been putting stuff on ebay.Trying my hardest to change...Mummy to a beautiful princess born 06/11/110
