Oooh, look at all these lurkers saying congratulations! I thought it was just us girlies talking about cakes and wedding dresses on our own!
The ring is stunning, I bet you can't wait to get it! The proposal sounds lovely too, but NIM is very romantic so I'd expect nothing less!
We got asked what date we'd set as soon as we announced we were engaged, it's like we've got nothing better to do the first few days than book a venue! We still haven't set a date after 6 months!
Will we be getting Dinah's DOTD now?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Yay DOTD! Is nice so many people have come out of luckerville to say congrats, shoes that your diary touches a lot of people Dinah.
I am on my first day off work still in bed lovely!0 -
Dress of the day, shoes of the day, probably venue of the day...........
I get paid tomorrow - fully plan on going and getting an arm load of wedding magazines - I've never looked at one and I'm sure its going to be a real eye opener!
NIMs mum called late last night, and twice again this morning while he was in the shower - really don't think shes happy! Hes going to call her back and speak to her today. If shes rude we're not going to see her when we're over at the weekend.
I am literally hopping with excitement waiting for the ring, hopefully they'll be able to deliver it before Friday. MY MSE head has kind of kicked in and keeps thinking he should get a smaller diamond and save the money, but my mum keeps saying its a once in a lifetime event, now isn't the time to save money, we're already getting it half the shop price by buying it online!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

_party_ Yay, any excuse to use my favourite smiley! Conratulations Dinah and NIM, what a gorgeous ring and lovely way to propose - NIM's reputation for romance well and truly intact!
I third the suggestion for Phase 3 definitelyAnd Birdie, I KNOW! How many lurkers listening to us prattle on every day
So, which bride-to-be on this thread is gonna start us off with DOTD??
ETA - Agree with your mum on the ring!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Your Mum is right now is not the time to be MSE although I am sure you will manage to get the wedding of your dreams for a better price than many people have.
If NIMs mum is going to be negative about it then you are right not to go and see her. Don't want anything to get you down!0 -

It's really lovely seeing all these people popping up to say congrats though! I completely forget other people read this too
Yayy to Wedding magazines, totally cannot wait until I can buy them!
As for NIMs mum, this should hopefully bring her to reality about how much NIM loves you and wants to stay in England. At least he's standing up to her now! Have you heard from NIMs Dad?0 -
Definitely I agree with Wendz, from what you've said in the past it's pretty likely she'll end up uopsetting you and this should be the happiest time of your life - just spend it with his Dad and friends
Being MSE according to Martin is about cutting costs not cutting back, you got the ring you wanted for cheaper than it should be and I'm sure you'll do the same with the weddingcurrently browsing that ring website, so many pretty things, sigh....
