I have a list of things I want to make - like a cloud bag with a silver ribbon running on the outline. A scarf that looks like a carrot. An a-line skirt in grey with little felt slices of toast holding along the hem (yeah, I don't get that one either) And a belt that looks like a chain of paperdolls. And I'd make them all, I just need mad skillz.
The sewing courses sound fab! I'll have to stay at home with my 'how to' books as I can't find anything near me.
Dinah - I like the sound of NIMs scarf and hey, fastening with a safety pin would just be another fashion statement! I tried making OH one when I first started knitting and the wool just got tighter and tighter - I could barely move the wool on the needle!0 -
That's what my crocheting does Cinny, the pattern just gets smaller and smaller so I'm using up loads of wool and not getting any blanket to show for it!
Dinah, I think NIM could look quite fetching if he tied his scarf with a nice brooch, just don't let him come to Billingham looking like that!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oh grief he'll die!
I've always wanted a scarf like the one on The Snowman:

Don't think I could make it but for 4 years thats been top of my 'dream world' Christmas list! Thats the kids size one, they sold out of the adult sized one last year and haven't got it back in yet.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Gorgeous scarf! But don't get the kids' one, I have an old Snoopy one which I love but looks a bit sillly! Ooh, I just bought myself a springform cake tin for £4 in TK Maxx in the clearance, and a set of brightly-coloured measuring spoons!!
Hee, it's like a WI thread this today!

It's fairly WI in here most of the time!
Have found a one day 'setting up your business' course for free nearby, have asked NIM to see if he can get the day off.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Haha, have you just been searching for interesting courses all day? It's soo boring here I have about 2 days' worth of work that I'm trying to stretch out til September, and LOADS of stuff I could be doing at home!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

None of the home stuff do-able online?!
Nah found this course this morning, but they just confirmed it is relevant to me, so now its a possibility.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds useful though, would you both go? I think I'd need a second pair of ears in case I didn't understand something!
No the only thing I could to is try and find somewhere to buy some buttons, ebay maybe. Everything else is cleaning/sorting... want to file my nails but I think that's taking the pee even if we are quiet!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Boyes do lots and lots of buttons. Don't know if there is one in Billingham though. I think there are quite a lot of online button shops.
Yeah I think we'd need lots of ears too so the plan is to both go, if NIM can get the day off that is.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Already been there, the one in Billingham is massive, they weren't big enough though. There's a one just opened in Middlesbrough but it's the in-shops bit and I'm a bit scared to go in there!!
Will you go on your own if he can't get time off?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
