Probably just !!!!!! to be fair, on Tuesday I think we'll have all of £650 in our holiday fund. Not bad, but not enough to go to Hong Kong! With Septembers payment we'd be at about the right level to book it though.... might be cheaper nearer the time....

My cupcakes are always done in a muffin tin, muffin case filled 2/3 of the way up, they rise a little, then a little lip left to contain the frosting.

Hmm, but do you think you can do them in a fairy cake case? Muffin cases seem so big! Last time I made some they did sort of spill out but I think I over-filled the cases...

You never know about the prices going down, or there may be another equally as good deal for somewhere else... I'm starting to think a bit more optimistically about NY, get paid next week and have about £300 spare due to being over-cautious with money at the start of the month in case of car repairs. Need to have a proper sit down and look with OH...

I use muffin cases with muffin trays for cupcakes, then bun cases and bun trays for the '2 eggs 4oz' typical British cake batter. You can make them in fairy cases though, just need to kind of guess how much to put in! I normally fill it too 1/2 and make the rest up in butter cream afterwards.
I don't know about changing cup sizes to oz or grams at all though, sorry Tete! I got my cuppy-things from Morrisons for about 97p.

Really want to make the Oreo cheeseycake things for my Uncles Birthday on Friday, but I'm on a budget and just buying the oreos would blow it, never mind 2pounds of cream cheese! Planning on sitting down with my bakery books tonight and finding something cheap to make.

Oh lordy, why did I click that cupcake link? Why??? I knew it would be a bad idea! I want to make them! I'm going to make them, I'll pop to Sainsbury's after work and get the ingredients to make them tomorrow night! Mmmm... they look so tastylicious!

Got to admit my diet is going so well I'm not all that tempted to make them, I've kind of reached the stage where I'm happy to make things and other people tell me they're yummy, but don't want to eat any myself!

I think last night has put me off baking for at least a week though!

Surely butterfly buns will be cheap? Basic sponge and a bit of buttercream icing... and always a winner! I love them... I want them now! I can tell I'm at *that* stage in my lady cycle when I just want comfort-cake!

Yeah, when they spilled over I'd filled them to 2/3 so I was thinking 1/2, get more cupcakes for your batter that way too :D

Me too, had a bit of choccy last night. Am pleased to note that I didn't seem to put any weight on beforehand though, maybe my first week's 3lb loss was beginner's luck rather than ladies' bloating as I first thought?

Dinah, I don't think I could ever watch people tucking into cakes (or anything for that matter) and just be pleased they were enjoying it!! WHERE'S MINE??!! I WANT MINE!!

LOL! I can imagine you going on a rampage grabbing cupcakes out of peoples hands and shoving them into your mouth!

Birdie - I was at *that* stage on Sunday and Monday, thankfully it's passed and I'm content with a peach for a snack! Butterfly buns would be good! I could do them in muffin cases so they look abit more manly. Think I might do a batch of cookies too, it is his 50th afterall!

We're going out Friday for a family meal to this pub that sounds uh-maz-ing but I was good and filled out my menu thing for all the 'healthly' options, but you pick your own desert when you're there and I know I'll get up reaching for the most calorific thing. I'll have to get my sister to pick it for me because she gets really nasty when I try and have something fatty.

Dinah - I'm like that too with baking. I'm just happy to see other people enjoying it, but then I think it's because I know how much bad stuff has gone into it!
