How do you get through so much make up?! You only have one face!

I don't get through it, I have loads of makeup! My everyday makeup for work is 14 different products alone (I think!) and that's for a natural look :o Like Poddle I think I use it to make up for the fact I'm not so proud about my figure. But it's for OHs benefit too - since we started going out again I've seriously upped my game make up and clothes wise - I'd hate to think people thought OH had an ugly unkept girlfriend :rotfl: I could never be a feminist!

That's fab about the wii fit Wendz! My sister had one and it's seriously good for easy exercises, the yoga is fantastic. Have fun!

I'm getting to that proper weight loss stage now other people are noticing. The biggest area of difference is my face/neck, looks like I've finally lost my puppy fat! My goal weight is 9st on boots diets but I'd be happy at about 9 and a half me thinks. I put it to loose 1.5pounds a week (I think) and I get 1400kcal a day to munch my way though. With my breakfast and morning snack I'm sitting at about 350kcal.

I guess I should thank my lucky stars NIM hates women wearing make-up, he likes the genuinely natural-natural look! I've always been kind of lazy about putting it on though, just a bit of eyeliner and my bright red lips, and I'm done!

Yep, each to their own! OH says he prefers me without make up too, but I don't! I love the ritual of putting make up on too :) Nothing overly complicated - foundation, eyeliner, mascara and maybe a bit of blusher/bronzer if I look peaky!

  • Augh, I bought a bright red lipstick a few weeks ago because I saw a blonde girl at the uni wearing some and she looked LOVELY, but I've got really full lips anyway and it makes me look like Rosie Webster :(

Well I've put a thread on the house board, so I guess I'll let you in on a bit of news. NIM is calling up at lunchtime to try to make a viewing on a property. It's a large, detached Victorian building which has been partially converted into 5 flats before the owner got arrested for fraud.... It looks like an incredable oppertunity, so we're off to take a look, with the hope of buying it and finishing the conversion before the end of the year, to make a bit of a profit.

I can't wear lipstick, I think it makes my face look weird! I just use Vaseline's Rosy lip stuff. OH say he prefers less makeup but I like making the effort for him, plus I'm pretty sure he's fibbing.

Dinah, that's great news! Sounds like a fab opportunity, I'll keep my fingers firmly crossed for you and NIM. Did you hear anything else on that other house you were interested in a bit ago?

I've had a look at your post, it sounds like it would be a desirable property for selling/renting flats ... is NIM's dad going to lend enough for the conversion as well as the purchase of the building? Might be worth having one of your surveyors have a look to see if there's anything on the structural side that looks a bit iffy? Remember you need to pay for building control throughout the conversion and as well, and probably more besides that I don't know about!

Cinny I think the only thing about wearing a lot of make up is that you can end up looking shocking without it! A girl I lived with at uni used to wear LOADS of mascara and eyeliner, but when you saw her first thing without it her eyes looked really shrunken!

I don't know any surveyors unfortunately, but we are taking my dad with us who knows quite a bit about this sort of thing. The company who started doing it out were a multi-million pound company before being got by the cops, with over 2000 properties under their belt, so I have to think they might have dealt with any structural issues first. Yes he would lend us enough for both if we were to go ahead.

We never went to see the house we are still in love with Cinny, its too much money at the moment. That would be a house for us rather than to sell on, but if we do this we should be able to make upwards of £50,000 after all the fees and costs and everything so can consider looking for our own house then, or reinvest in another project. It's still for sale though and I do check on it daily!

  • I'm resisting RightMove !!!!!! here! I thought you'd all be in the same dept, obviously though if you were getting to the serious end of looking at it, then you'd be getting it surveyed anyway. Checking on your house, like it's your baby!
