Oooh, only a week and a day until The Meet! I told OH about it and he thinks I'm going to be kidnapped and murdered... he really has no faith in online friendships! LOL! You're not scary kidnapping murderers are you?!?!?!?!

Yes. Yes we are. Don't say we didn't warn you.

If he wants to make sure you are safe he's welcome to come too. How come we keep being refered to as 'little' friends? I think you need to take him aside and explain we're not actually minpins living inside the hard drive, we're real, full grown people!

Went to do a bank MS at lunchtime, and I was snootily told I can't expect to just turn up and see someone.... well the brief told me I could so that's not going to go down too well!

Ha, well that's the point of mystery shopping isn't it, so that you don't get customer service like that! I hope you noted their name!

Hi Poddle! How was your week at your dad's apart from boring him senseless with MSE related stories? Was it nice and low-spend like you hoped?

I've just relised I confessed to jacket buying on the first virgin page of your new thread Dinah, not very MSE at all, oops!

He's a simple soul, I think he believes that the people are actually inside the TV having super adventures for his personal entertainment... lets not confuse him with the science of real people talking to me through the magic of the internet! LOL! I don't want him to come, you're *my* peeps! If he's really worried (which I really don't think he is as he knows there are no single men going!) he can sit on a separate table hiding behind a newspaper wearing a trenchcoat like spies of yesteryear!

pps. Hello to the other ladies too! And new 'faces'! Tete, I think it was very considerate of you to buy new things to celebrate Dinah's special day! And re the watch battery - I replaced my fossil battery in a Timpson about 2 months ago and it was £6.95 for a normal battery and £9.95 for one with 'forever' guarantee which is quite a bargain. Obviously, I've misplaced my receipt, but that's not the point! Have you noticed that there is always a man working in Timpsons who looks like the creepy figure in the window?!

What so if it runs out you get a new one for free? That would be quite a bargain as I only got the watch last Christmas (2007) and I thought it had run out quite quickly. I was only expecting about £2 though so it was a bit of a shock! Will go and ask about it again in my hometown branch... And this guy wasn't creepy, just miserable!

Can't believe you told your dad about us, does this mean NIM and I are becoming folklore?!

Same here, though he doesn't want to come (see earlier 'saddo' comment). He said he's going off up a mountain (I guess it'll be nice for him without me to hold him back!). Even though I'll only be out a few hours, he's going off for the day

My dad took me out to dinner last night and I was regaling him with your story - every time he thought he'd changed the subject, I'd be like 'AND she did this... and then THIS happened...'
LOL! I thought it was just me who did this!

I think NIM is more excited about the meet than me. But then I'm a worrier. Should I have booked a table? What if it isn't open? How will we recognise one another? What if we have nothing to say? What if we get lost on the way there? And so on and so on.

Sounds like a typical Boysulk! OH thinks that it is perfectly acceptable to go off for 3 hours (if not more) every Saturday afternoon to watch the rugby (when he's not playing) but if I say I'm going out in the morning without him he'll throw a wobbly about me throwing away *our* time together! Tch! You'll have to show your OH pictures of us gorgeous girlies (and guy) when you get home next week to show him that we're not saddos, we're fab! :D
