I want to make aprons too!!
I made some cute shorty ones last year and if I can find one I'll take a pic and post it (if I can work out how!) when I'm at home next.
I have 1 exam last but tbh I've kind of given up. I have allready passed the module in fairness but I do need to do the work to do well.
Just found out that we have even more bills to pay and my house has used about double the reccomended electricity for a house! How do we cut this down when we allready dont have a tv, we only live there in the holidays, not everyone has a computer, the heating is gas, and we have electricity saving bulbs!?!? I don't understand it to be honest :(
I love Cinnys Cupcakery idea and the clothes and stuff are sooo cute! I want to help and be involved! (when you need staff, I think I live relatively local... ;) ) I saw some of those big cakek mixers (kenwood?) at a retail park yesterday (yes I know, I went shopping :( ) I think it was in a place called Kitch n' Sink - I didn't get a price though sorry. I had a good day shopping yesterday and OH bought me a lovely top which is my perfect colour and it was reduced and we got an extra 10% off it and a jacket he bought by printing an internet thing... (which I gave to someone else to use when we were going home - my good deed for the day methinks!)
I dont know how I could be involved otherwise but I am good at accounting/maths and sewing and eating?! and I have just done an International Busines module so when we're ready to go global......!?!?!

Hope you are all ok and everything.. I am feeling mega skint this week but I only need to survive uni for about another week then I can maybe do some temping over the summer for the worst wages ever but hey!

Also I got my first credit card and its PINK!!! I haven't used it yet though..

    Love you all x

    Hey Tink

Do you have an electric water heater? That's why our bills are so expensive, as it costs so much even to have it on for 30 mins a day.

Sounds like you're doing so well, it would be a shame to lose focus for one last exam. Sending big study vibes your way.

Sounds like you have had a productive one Dinah!!! I have been to an MS this morning. I had to get up so early, but feeling quite self righteous now. I am counting the reimbursements in with the £5 a day challenge, hope that isn't too naughty. Just got my tax bill too - will have to file my return this week so I don't have to pay anything on account.

The weather is awful here too - it feels like it hasn't stopped raining since last night. I am sitting in with Ironing Mountain and Mad Men. x

Tinkerbel - I always found bills expensive at uni, how many people live in your house? We had 6 and so was really busy and people were there most of the day unlike most families who are working etc during the day. Just make sure you turn lights off when you are not on the room etc, only a certain amount you can do. Good luck with your last exam!

You are so lucky with all your holiday Dinah! I am having a week off in August to have a bit of a relax, and aso helping my parents out as they are going away so i can cat sit

I think I'll be needing the aprons soon, went to the local indoor market and spoke to a nice old chap who's given me a stall for the 27th June! :D Came home all giddy and smiley and stupidly excited. But now it's turned into nervy scaryness, what if no one wants any?!

Dinah - A week off and having the house to yourself sounds lovely! Sounds like you've had a good morning too, I like the sound of ordering books! Just about to go onto bookpeople to see if I can find my Dad anything for Fathers Day.

Don't give up on the exams Tink! Couldn't you set yourself a target of doing X amount of studying, then give yourself a treat? Sorry I can't help with the electric bill, just the normal eco tricks, checking light switches, making things are turned off at the wall an so on!

Wendz - Have your wings turned up yet? Hope the weather cheers up for you! It's turned quite nice here, not sunny but at least it isn't raining anymore. Was horrible in Sheffield yesterday, everyone was going about 40 on the motorway because of all the spray.. or whatever it's called!

No wings yet  saw the postman going up road opposite though so maybe he will get here soon. Am going to have to leave in half hour though.

That is so exciting about the stall! I am sure you will do well, do lots of research into what people like etc, and the best prices. It will be a great experience anyway

Lol well my dad came around to show mum the car he was thinking of buying - turns out he already bought it! They're in an IVA but it had no allowances for cars over the 7 years and 3 1/2 years in dads 12 year old BMW 5-series has failed the MOT in a spectacular fashion, requiring nearly 2k repairs on a car not worth 1k so the IVA people have agreed to add on a loan so he can get a new car. It's nothing exciting, but does 60 to the gallon which is important when you do over 2,000 miles a month minimum.

Lol I'll happily make the aprons when I work out how to use my sewing machine. I'll admit I'm a bit tempted to take a week off when mum and dad are in Italy and NIM and I have the house to ourselves. I can spend all day painting and learning to sew, and make his dinner for when he comes home!

I still have 34 days holiday to take this year, 12 of which can be taken with nim (down to 22 now) and 4 of which I want to use to have a 2 week Christmas break (18 now), and his holiday runs Jan-Jan while mine is April-April so we might have a winter weekend somewhere (my Birthday is a Monday, 2 days here me thinks!) but that still leaves me 2 weeks to use up, so the idea of taking a little summer break to do creative things at home when everyone away is really tempting.
    Book the leave NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwww

    Hello!

How exciting about the stall Cinny! I feel like popping down to see you and buy lots of cupcakes off you! Are you going to get a nice sign made?!

I've bought The Sims 3 (yes, I'm a Sims geek! I bought the special edition too with a sims usb drive, extra geeky!) but it requires so much disk space that I'm currently deleting anything not absolutely necessary from my laptop in the vain hope that it'll work! It probably won't, OH and I have been pricing up new laptops and I've cancelled a work share save thingy so I can get a new one (mine is pretty much steam powered!), I'm expecting a fair few hundred quid back from the scheme, £600-£700! OH's gone all techno geek on me and is saying that we need to get a good one with a big screen and blu-ray drive so I can watch my movies and stuff on that in the spare room instead of kitting it out with a tv and dvd/blu ray player and getting a laptop as well so I think it may be a good idea to just spend the extra money on the bluray drive so he doesn't go tv shopping!

Hope you get your wings wendz! It's brightened up here after raining all morning, any chance of it brightening up for your ball?
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Oooh you'll have to let me know how it is Birdie, I love the Sims but I don't have the time atm to play it since I'm still a big World of Warcraft fan. Couple WoW with all the house savings + painting, and I'm a bit short of time!
