Thanks guys
Everybody is working today and OH is working crazy hours for the next 2 weeks, so I might just take myself out for lunch today.
I am really excited, it's only part time and I start on October 1. Better get my backside into gear and get those fees saved!
NIM sounds like a brilliant guy, that's a lovely email he sent you Dinah. Am sure you'll get through this month and next month your spends will be okay. Sounds like you need to keep some of that MS money for spends this month x:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
That's fab news Lara! Congratulations! What's the actual course title? I'm very interested in other people's postgrad studies, and a little bit jealous!
NIM's such a sweetie! I'm sure you'll muddle through a tough month and hopefully things will even out soon - £180 sounds fairly reasonable. But it seems to me that unexpected expenses always pop up at the wrong time, though as long as they're balanced with unexpected income you should be fine!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Congratulations Lara!
I think you do great to manage to only spend that amount in a month. Wish I could manage it, sure i could if i had to.0 -
Congratulations Lara!
NIM's such a sweetie and you'll get through the tough month, maybe just use some of your extra earnings to help you through until next month. Unexpected spends are always cropping up and you just have to roll with the punches and accept that not as much money can be saved some months as it can in other months!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
We've been on a mcuh tighter budget than £360 up until now. Plus the £360 doesn't include contact lenses, gym membership, dental insurance, petrol or plane tickets, so I really don't see how we could spend nearly £100 a week on 'stuff'!
NIM remembered he has a coin jar his brother is supposed to be putting into the bank for him, so that will be about £40-50 into the spends pot for the month, and he has e30 in his wallet he's going to try to swap with a bloke in the office who is off to France at the weekend, which if the bloke is amenable then that'll be £25 too, which sorts him out nicely.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

If this was a car breakdown or the computer died or something, yes I would agree. But this is entirely spending on luxuries and socalising, so I'm not willing to drop the savings for those as its the entire point of budgetting to be able to stick to it! I do agree NIM is a sweetie though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oooh lovely lunch, spent my half an hour in the sunshine laid on the grass between our car park and the factory next door, reading my very sarcy housebuilding book. AND I get to clock off a bit early today, 4.45ish, as I will be meeting NIM at the gym.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
