No New Years in Paris for us, it's too close to the Disney holiday so we won't be able to afford it. Maybe one day, when we've got a half decent wage between us we'll be able to afford more than a few days away *le sigh* Still, better than nothing.
I had to re-read the fee too! I was thinking 'that's not too bad really!' then it hit me, crikey! It's unbelievable what they charge, and that they get away with it! But I suppose if a Bride to be was to fall in love with the place she'd be willing to pay it.
Any ideas what you're wanting to make Lara? So cool you're catering for a music video!0 -
Morning everyone,
I have managed to sort my angel costume. I am borrowing a white dress from my sister (she had three - shopaholic haha). She was going to take it back as she wasn't sure she could afford it but i said i wuld give her a fiver to loan it. A lot cheaper than buying one! Also ordered wings and halo for 11 pounds with free postage and they should get here by saturday , fingers crossed.
The paris new year trip sounds good. Friends of mine got engaged there last new year.0 -

Nooo, that's outrageous! Remember that weather forecasts are not to be believed and pack some sandals and pretty dresses too and then we'll all keep our fingers crossed for sunshine
Lara, you sound like you've got lots of exciting things going on at the mo! Have you got a set budget for the wedding or are you just sussing out what things cost first? You have to be really careful with all the 'hidden' costs I think, like if you're planning on using your own caterer (as opposed to a 'preferred supplier') the venue can still charge a premium for it. Madness!
Well done to you, and everyone else, on the mystery shopping jobs! I've never got a nice meal out, just quite a rubbishy pizza-based one. Most of the resturant jobs in the South seem to be in London which is silly because 'the South' is quite big!
Very exciting about the new car Poolie! Enjoy
I'm just try to plan a sun-friendly interview outfit - usually I'm in dresses, dark tights and boots but that doesn't seem quite right!

Is the coach company a national one Cinny or just very regional departures? £189 is really good BUT I'd want a local departure.
Actually I only got one job Tete, company I didn't even know was at Teesside Park. No fee, just a £15 reimbursement, but I'm hoping I can get something pretty for that as a treat! Failing that something to flog on ebay!

It's national, there's even an optional day out to Disney Land!
Been doing my MSE bit over the holiday in December, by far the cheapest with Gold Crest. Found one that came really close using the Eurostar but we'd need to put train ticket fares ontop of that to get to London which completely cancelled it out!
Not been in work mode this morning. It's way way way too sunny outside! 2 hours and I'll be sunning myself in the garden, be nice to have a natural tan for once. :rolleyes:0 -
I'm looking forward to lunch when I'm actually going to take my 1/2 hour (I never take lunch off) and go sit outside on the grass and read my house building book!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Only an hour to go until my lunch; I shall sit myself outside and read my book- can't wait! OH is making me jealous as he spent all yesterday afternoon outside reading and is planning on doing the same today!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Urgh, hating this seperate finances thing, you just end up disecting the pennies. The day out at the weekend cost loads, leaving NIM with no spends, just his £38 of overdraft for the month, and he goes out for a burger at the pub every friday with the team at work, and he has to get petrol out of that too. Now while I know he's not the type, my ex used to yell at me and blame me if I had no money, so I got overly defensive in case he started questioning/asking for money. Daft thing is, I have no spends at all, and am going overdrawn just on bills, but I want him to integrate with his new team, so I allocated him all the spends this month, and I'm just finding it really stressfull to manage the money when I can see problems looming and I can't avoid them. Refuse to take money out of savings to cover spends, that kind of defeats the idea of budgetting.
If we had one account there wouldn't be so much disection of where the money goes on a day out etc.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think you really need to loosen up a bit on the savings Dinah, I know what you're saying about budgeting but it's no good if you're falling short every month and ending up in your OD. Can you not put, say, half what you do now into savings as soon as you get paid, then whatever else is left over at the end of the month, move that over as well? At least until you're properly on your DF feet and NIM's getting regular money?
Thanks for that link Birdie, I've entered tooAll your comments are making me wish I'd brought my book to go outside with. There's a lovely bit of grass with benches and fountains, tho unfortunately it's outside the courts so there are always undesirables hanging about
Had a little panic a few minutes ago when my chest started feeling tight, thought I'd caught OH's chest infection, but I've loosened my bra and feel a bit betterDon't think it means my boobs are getting miraculously bigger unfortunately

£180 spends should be enough for a month, sorry but that is a LOT of money! From next month we'll have that much EACH. And the only reason I have no spends this month is how much we overspent in Ireland so I had to use my spends money paying all of that off, and I don't think NIM realises thats why I'm going without spends this month.
He sent me an email, extremely sweet, saying I could never be the bad guy in his eyes, it's just taking him a while to learn to budget, and as far as he's concerned there's nowhere else in the world he would prefer his money to go than towards our house, and he's happy to make any sacfirices in the meantime to get there. Things like that stop me stressing, because he doesn't rub up against me, he supports me everytime and I love him for that.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
