I'm much better now I don't go out at lunchtimes, no temptation to spend.
NIM is going to say to his farm boss he's available for weekend work in the kiosk when he leaves. He'd make about £25 a day profit, so if he worked one day a weekend he'd be about £500 up by the end of the summer season when the farm closes for winter. He says he doesn't mind this as it ends at 3pm, I wouldn't get him to do any moneymaking on the other day off, and he'd be at home evenings anyway.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think you have an age complex missy!
I've managed to take 2 cameras back that have 'just stopped working properly' *ahem* one to tescos and one to Argos no problems!
I feel a bit odd being in the office on my owny! I don't even have the office pooch with me to stand guard. And we have some seriously smelly scary people coming into the office sometimes, one who kneels down on the floor and licks his lips at you. You have to go rub bleach in your eyes after that.
I agree with Tete, Dinah. As long as you set yourself a budget you should be fine!
What I do for my savings (well, not so much recently but I'm getting back to it. Shhh) I'd round my CA balance down (Like £33 to £30 or £37 to £35.) everyday, or if my CA balance was 'even' I'd round my savings balance up, like from £347 to £350. You really don't miss the odd few pounds everyday!
Good idea for NIM with the farm job! Hope they agree to it.0 -
Sorry for making you feel old Tete, but you certainly don't look like an old fogie, you've got a lovely early-20s look about you! (although I don't think 27 counts as 'old'!) It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm going to be feeling my usual mix of joy and horror, I still feel 19!
Hope the camera swap goes without a hitch!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
ok, so have a bit of a dilemma...i havent got enough cash on me to get the coffee for the MS later. Do i cash in my scratch card and use that and get reimbursed (£3) or get £10 out the cash point? I think use the scratch card as otherwise I will end up spending the rest of the £10 on nothing!Trying my hardest to change...Mummy to a beautiful princess born 06/11/110

You should use the scratch card money Sam, then you're getting more free money for using free money IYKWIM! And I can't have spare money in my purse without spending it, so I know you'll be the same!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Another vote for the scratchcard here too.
I round any monies I spend to the nearest £1, so if I spent £7.61 on petrol, 39p would go into the saver, often I add another £1 on as well!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sam you answered your own question there I think, you're well on the way to being a MSE superstar!!
Cinny, I returned another camera to Tesco after about a year when it genuinely did just stop working. The problem is that this was from Jessops and they might be a bit more clued up and realise it's been dropped! Also OH says it was on sale when he bought it (good little MSE!) and is now £40 more expensive, so is worried they might charge the extra if they do agree to swap it, but I'm sure they can't do that. He's taking a lady from work with him who apparently has a real knack of making you feel 2 inches tall so hopefully she'll work her magic for me!
Sorry Poolie, didn't realise you'd been weightlifting as well, I'll let you off. Have a big pizza and choccie cake for tea to make up for it!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Well the balance transfer from BC to Cap1 has cleared on Cap1 this morning. Roll on the statement. Payment date was 17th so well inside. Hopefully the interest will be tiny and can be paid off. 2nd card down since January.
Credit Card killings:
Asda - Died January
Cap 1 - Died 21st June.
BC - Not too worried about this yet0 -
Well done on clearing another card Poolie.
