Hello Everyone! I don't normally post on this thread but feel like a bit of a chit chat...!
N9eav - vandalism gets on my last nerve... We came home to graffiti on one of our windows and our garage last weekend - I was not impressed and took OH a while to get it off... They had also had a go at a car on the road and a road sign. Path of destruction........
PenelopePenguin - Apricot and Cinammon Bread sounds GORGEOUS...! Please may I have the recipe?!?I have a BM which I love!
I have gone recipe mad this week - been printing off salads and the Chinese food thread that is in the OS forum. I think it will be HM Chinese for dinner on Sunday! And Apricot and Cinammon bread tomorrow if PenPen allows it!!!
Have a good day & weekend everyone! Ash xxOfficial DFW Member 716 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Not at all sure I should be posting today, as there is absolutely nothing, OS or otherwise, happening in the Wolf's Lair today.
I'm feeling totally bleurgh, have a migraine threatening to materialise, so I figure it's best to let the housework wait for now.
I have, however, made a note of the recipe Sistercas uses for aubergines, may try to get some when we go to the market for our greengrocery tomorrow.:o
I'll have to do some serious baking over the weekend, we are somewhat depleted as far as bread and cakes goes; also, weather permitting, I'd like to get some of the [STRIKE]wilderness[/STRIKE] garden tidied.
Right, I'm going to crawl back under my blanket on the sofa. Luckily Mr LW has volunteered to do dins tonight - hope I can face food by then._pale_If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening everyone
Its been a fabulous drying day here and if I'd been home instead of galivanting around shopping out of town I could have got loads of washing dried. But as it was I just got two loads washed and dried:o.Did a manic tidy up and dust before I left this morning and vacuumed when I got back.Kids had Spag Bol for tea with HM Ice -Cream and Strawberries for pud
DD&D-Barrier Nursing is when you have to enter the room complete with mask, gloves and gown etc.Its basically to reduce the risk of infection in the immunosuppressed or prevent infecting the medical staff if the patient has a contagious condition. If you are recovering from an illness yourself I really wouldnt recommend visiting IMO its better to be safe than sorry
MSD-It always amazes me how you never realise how much you use certain parts of your body until you hurt them and try not to use them:DGreat news about hearing from Tristan, you have to admire the guys determination to beat the medics predictions
Christabell-I must be the only person on the planet that thinks aubergines are bleugh

Evening everyone
Well thats another week over, is it just me or once you get older they go so much quicker?
(((hugs))) for those in need or who would just like one. Happy Birthday to those who have celebrated this week.
OS wise am still cooking from scratch, not done much baking as me and OH really could do with losing a few poundsAlthough in a couple of weeks I need to make loads of cakes, its DGD christening and DD has asked me to make cakes, after the service she is doing an 'afternoon tea' she didn't want to get bogged down with catering so has decided its sarnies, scones and cakes. Have thought I will make a lemon drizzle cake, ginger cake and and Aunt Sally's apple cake, any other suggestions greatfully received
Does anyone know what I can do with about half a doz kiwi fruits  I hate them as a fruit, I only got them 'cos DSD likes them, but when she came last week she said she didn't like them anymore. Hate to throw away though, and not sure about standing on street corner trying to give them away :rotfl:
Not done a lot else lately. Went to DSD's school concert last night, some lovely singers there, but why oh why do they all sing with an american accent. 2 beautiful singers did 'defying gravity' which came out as defying gravidy, my DD's old singing teacher would have had a fit! :rotfl: We are going to the dogs tomorrow night, its a suprise for OH's cousins 50th he knows his immediate family are going but is not expecting all the rest.
Have a good weekend xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hello everyone,
Not posted for a wee while - have been lurking and gardening! Hope everyone is well.
The plot in my BF's garden is now all ready for some seeds...the only downside is that I now have a bad back and, for the first time in my life, I have been struck with hayfeverI'm the only gay in this forum

The lodger is snoring loudly behind me, she's leaving tomorrow.
Have a good evening everyone

Sorry I have not posted for a few days but it has been manic here and everyone v upset. Hubbie still hasn't reacted to her death, even when I was sorting music for service and all of the rest of us were blubbering
Finally got report from Coroner today re DMiL and was able to register her death - it seems she had ischaemic heart disease and her heart just stopped - as she was in bed, facing a picture of late DFiL, I suppose it is not a bad way to go! Just such a shock for those left behind.
Have been running around like a mad thing today, seeing Registrars, Banks, Pensions people etc and think we now have most of the official stuff sorted - just need to get on with emptying the flat and wondering what on earth to do with her furniture etc. We are in process of bagging all her clothes to send to charity shops, she had so many, we have filled about 9 bags already and have yet to start in her bedroom!
No OS to report of here at all I am afraid so perhaps being a fraud even posting here at all - even went to Nandos for tea as none of us could face cooking. Really need to start eating properly as fed up of junk food this week. Funeral is set for next Thursday so hope to get some meals cooked and frozen tomorrow to see us through until after funeral.
Thank you for the kind thoughts and words. Sorry to anyone who's birthday I have missed and hugs to all who need or want them

Evening Everyone
I should be working now, but the function at the hotel didn't have many bookings, so they cancelled me. Not heard if I'm needed for Sunday Lunch yet, so might be a week of no wages from there:o However, I have been doing news for a station in Spain. Not much cash involved, but better than not earning at all. Should get paid for a voiceover gig tomorrow too with any luck.
Been bus today - went to Mr T, armed with vouchers, filled up the car with petrol (double points) then off to the farm shop, where we got loads of good quality meat, eggs, milk, drinks for £40:T Having some of the sausages tomorrow night. Also picked up my presecription from the pharmacy. Then when I got home, made a banana & ginger cake. Not tried it with ginger before so fingers crossed it tastes ok:p
Got £20 amazon vouchers to spend through a survey I did ages ago, so think I'm going to get a couple of River Cottage books with those!
Been fairly healthy today with yogurt & fruit for breakfast, HM sausage rolls for lunch and chicken, mushrooms and rice for dinner.
Just working my way through surveys and pay-to-click things now.
Hope everyone's ok
