    Morning all,

Dull here today but not raining so I'll chance the washing out on the line. Not a massive amount to do today thankfully as I'm in a reading mood so want to rush getting everything done ;) so I can get some in this afternoon.

Dinner tonight is meatless - a cheese & onion open flan affair with new potatoes & salad so quick & easy. I just roll puff pastry out onto a tray, score an edge about half an inch from the sides all the way round and top with a mixture of grated cheese, chopped onion, herbs & an egg to bind. Half an hour in the oven & its done :T The edge puffs up nicely & the filling is cooked & squidgy.

Penelope Penguin I get like this with baking every so often and it becomes part of regular food instead of a treat. I tend to bake Twinks, Weetabix cake, victoria sponge & various buns etc from the Be-Ro book. Sometimes I have a week of doing fruity things for a change - fruit salad, smoothies, crumbles, cobblers etc. The children appreciate my baking but eat it so fast that I sometimes wonder if its worth it  They would eat shop bought stuff with much the same gusto. Not at all sure that I've helped with my ramblings here

Hope that everyone is having a good day.

Morning all..........((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

Another late morning, just before 9am when I looked at the clock. OH is waiting for the foot lady to come and cut his toe nails for him. He was fine at the bowls yesterday, big sigh of relief, thats the problem with his condition it can come on from nowhere.......still Tuesday he gets his first lot of exercises.

White wash blowing on the line. My new washer has an hour wash which you can vary the temperature, so 60o wash in an hour and brilliant white washing on the line blowing in the breeze, does my heart good!!!! Need to put a coloured load in now to go out when the white one is dry...... forecast is not so good for tomorrow, might risk doing all 3 loads and try and get them dry, can always finish the last one off on the rad driers.......

Nothing really planned for today, I am taking it easy, still have the bedroom window to finish and to tackle the small one in the kitchen........but they can wait a bit longer.....will get them done next week sometime.

We are waiting for OH's civil service pension rise to come through, then I can go and see about the housing and council tax bemefit.....we will be running pretty near the line for the next couple of months, it can take them up to 8 weeks to sort it out. Once its up and running I can breath a little easier.......His April payment is in this morning, but no statement......April is a proprtionate month.....the first full payment will be at the end of May. Mine came through 2 weeks ago but it has had to go back, they have got the tax round their necks, don't pay tax. Will have to go in with that when it comes back from the tax office.

A nice sunny morning but quite a breeze, ok....off to put another load of washing in....see y'all later..............

  • Hello again.....aubergine now in Ramoska with chicken and tomato sauce....

That Flylady would have her work cut out for her if she came here.....I would be terrified to answer the doorbell to her.....especially in Jammies and dressing gown:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::rotfl:
Today, my BEST is good enough.

You've cheered me up as I am in a dressing gown too.:T

Washing is nearly ready to hang on the line and made DH and me a cooked brekkie as he works at home today.

Still need to wrap present for Aunt's 85th tomorrow and need to get DH to drive me to Tesco for a few bits and pieces.

Might make DD a pasta dish with onions, peppers, cheese in a white sauce as a treat. She goes to see her sister at uni next week and has been dropping hints she wants to take Twink's hobnobs with her.

Hugs to everybody having a tough time and see you later.

Back quicker than I thought. Foot lady came OH decided to have a dizzy right in the middle, so he is in bed and she is coming back next week!!!

I have one load of washing almost dry and a second load will be ready to go out in a few minutes, its on its finsl spin, not so much thiick stuff in this load so should dry quicker and may be I will get the last load out as well, them the machine can have a break until next weekend..........

Might go to the library after lunch, I have 7 books in and OH has 1.......I am reading one of his at the moment, also need to draw some cash for the workman tomorrow. I am paying to have the old fridge and freezer taken out, the cupboard demolished and my fridge freezer fitted in the space........the old fridge and freezer will go in the garage, I can store white and rose wine in the fridge and the freezer will work fine as a second freezer despite having no door on the freezer compartment. That reminds me I need to go and turn the other one on..........

Tuna mayo sarnies for lunch me thinks.......I used to use a tin at a time, but the last tin I bought was 55p so its going to have to last 2 days from now on, it will be fine with some lettuce and cucumber in to bulk it up.

Quite a breeze this morning, although its warm in the sun, OH was out with the watering can in the courtyard this morning, the clematis I have near the back gate is going really well. I need to take out the foxglove and the bulbs, the foxglove can go in the front and the bulbs in the garage to dry off ready to plant in the pots fro next year. I might put some under the grass in the front and allow them to naturalise..........the plants for the tubs are now out in the garden, I will bring them in at night at least for the next couple of weeks. I need to get some trailing lobelia, will have to see what Wilko's have, I have just over £1 left from last months HK money......depends how much they are, mind you I could also have a look at the market, we have had some good plants in the past from the chap who stands at the weekend.

Off to hang out another load of washing..................

    Afternoon All!
Well I had a phone call from personnel yesterday. I am being officially retired on 30th April.:o
I was a bit sad at first, but then I thought, summer is coming, loads of time to sit in the garden!:T OH is pleased too, he says he'll save loads of money now, because we won't have to go on holiday in school holiday time!:rotfl:

Stripped the beds this morning, and changed all the towels, so line full of washing out. Lovely day here, though the weekend is not supposed to be too good.

Fajitas for dinner with salad. Started the "lunch-box" diet. You are supposed to graze on it all day, but I eat it all at lunchtime:rotfl:Don't have anything else till dinner though.

Going to the MS society's AGM this afternonon.
Hope you all have a good day!

    Afternoon OS friends!hi.gif

I spoke to Tristan!! Wooohoooo! He sent emails three days in a row - long emails with real sentences in them and yesterday he logged on first thing his time and we spent two hours on messenger! He seemed really well. He still won't voice or cam, says he looks too ill, but the mere fact he was up to sitting up and typing was a real thrill!
    welcome2.gifBitsybeans!
Penpen - Something that I bake at least once a fortnight is my Auntys apple cake HERE, we sometimes have it hot like a pudding with custard or just cold as normal. Plus my OH adores my coffee victoria sponge with coffee butter icing.
Ivyleaf - sorry that you aren't feeling too good.
stefejb and Mr CM - belated birthday wishes to you both.
hilstep - sorry to hear the news about your job but it sounds like you and your OH are seeing all the positives which is lovely to hear! And now you will have all this extra time to be OS.. rotfl.gif
Thriftlady - those flyladies are so impressive aren't they? (and yes, just a bit scary!) You really made me laugh yesterday with your genuine allergy to exercise!
Redruby - we are having that beef crumble tonight too! I found it on here and thought it looked delicious!
Nic1 - still thinking of you and remembering you all in my prayers

Am hobbling like mad as on Weds afternoon I managed to break my toe by kicking a chair. The chair has been in the same place for years but obviously decided to throw itself out at me as I was passing - I can think of no other explanation!

I can't remember who is was that said they didn't think cooking a meal was necessarily OS, but as one of our stalwarts said, so many people don't bother to do that, I think it is a bit OS. So many people still live on instant meals out there!

So today will be the last of the potting up of my plug plants and then cooking dinner. The rats nest next to my bed is just about clear... we moved 17 books into another room and I found all sorts of treasure that I had forgotten about that had fallen under the bed! Going to polish the cabinet with real beeswax polish now to make it look and smell fab.
Warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who needs one. Have a great day.

    I've been Money Tipped!
MSD - Ouch! You will be surprised how much things can hurt when it is 'just' your toe. Really good news about Tristan.

Nic1Lou2 - Still thinking of you

Mudgekin - hope you are okay

Christabell - wow - sounds fantastic.

Really sorry if I missed anyone - frazzled. :o

Little bear was awake at 6, and as I am sleeping in his room currently so was I - but I had put off going to bed for ages in case I woke him (I did, sort of, he sat up, looked at me, lay down and went back to sleep) so I am v tired. LB is also extremely tired - due to complete indulgence and absence of nap yesterday. He and darling father are asleep, and I wish I was. :o

I haven't taken the burgers out to defrost. I may fall back on plan B, when I work out what it is.

When my darling father has woken up then I can get on with trying to clear the kitchen and get some washing on. The kitchen looks like a bad example. Apart from that - ironing!

We are out tomorrow, to a big park and out again Sunday and darling father goes home Monday. If I have survived until then I shall definitely treat myself to some unnecessary wool as a reward.

    Hugs to all.
