Hi,I was at my dentist today to get a crown replaced and it is worse looking than the 1st one, also i asked about getting my teeth whitened and he stated he did not want to do"Zoom" but to use trays.
    Anyone know anyrhing about this

Trays are slower, but more reliable, and longer lasting result.

There's quite a lot about it already in this thread.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

do you have the laser treatment at dentist? i have not read any comments except spammers recomending anything except go to the dentist...surely they have different types of treatments too? is it really as basic as tray or laser? what things help after you have had them done? sonic type tooth brushes and special dentist paste? or just tray top ups?

i am baffeled to be honest and got a brain ache after reading so much comments and advice hardly any recomendations.

Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

For specific recommendations, it's best to speak to your own dentist who will have your teeth in front of him.

If you don't use the gel/tray system at all, then any results will be short lived - especially if you smoke.

If you just use gel/tray, it takes a few weeks to get a result, but it lasts (Or would if you didn't smoke).

If you use the laser system first, then gel/tray you get an instant 'wow' that will last longer than just laser alone.

With smoking though, it might be better in the long term just to save up for a nicer set of white dentures - as it will get your teeth in the end.

  • I've tested loads of the systems and by far the best result for me is with Enlighten. 2 weeks trays then surgery treatment.
Zoom / Britesmile etc (IMO) are a waste of time, the lights don't make a jot of difference and I have concerns over the safety of shining UV light onto tissues into the mouth, and having hydrogen peroxide sitting on top of the teeth not enclosed in a tray if it gets on to the lips or tissues could cause a nasty burn.
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are usually right.
