  • Hi, I used to use the oral b electric brushes and thought they were the bees knees but snince having a sonicare i cant believe the difference. I understand that dentsists have different recommendations but i think the sinicare flexcare (new model) which is expensive (aprox £95) is amazing. I found i had to see my hygienist less and my teeth stayed whiter longer also feel much cleaner. We recommend to all our pts. I am practice manager of a private dental practice by the way.

i really varies from person to person which is more suitable - it really varies. Impressions really vary from person to person-particularly about the sonicare - i find people either love it or hate it!
  • Hi all

Some advice please - I have run out of carbamide peroxide syringes for the home whitening kit I got from my dentist. They want £25 per syringe! Is this a fair price and is it risky buying them myself online, for example?

    Thanks.
  • Hi there - I know I've just done another post, but searched through this thread and saw what you said below - do you still recommend it? I have been quoted £25 / syringe by my dentist for 15 or so % carbamide peroxide.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Lady_K

The product I buy is: Nite White ACP 16% mint. I've been using it for a couple of years, with my dentist's knowledge, and I am very pleased with it.

I would not use anything higher than a 16% strength.

your dentists price sounds average to be honest and i would never buy something like that online just incase it's not the real deal and causes damage to your teeth.
  • Okay, I understand what you say - my concerns as well are buying online - the dentist.net Nite White excel gel from the States has been praised by 'SparkyG'.

  • Just found the exact type of syringes that my dentist supplies at £25 per syringe for £34.04 for 4 (exc delivery) online HERE at:

    Any thoughts?!

    Hi,

I just bought a teeth whitening kit from my dentist for £300 which includes:

2 x Gum Shields moulded to be my teeth
    12 x 20% Carbamide Peroxide Syringes

    Few questions...

    1) Is it OK to leave the shields in overnight or best not too?

    2) How long should I leave it in a day? Whenever I put them in my mouth creates lots of slavia and its a bit annoying.. :

    3) Would it be better for me to buy Hydrogen peroxide syringes as I hear it is much quicker acting, which is attractive as I wouldn't need to keep them in as long.

Any feedback would be appreciated! :)
