Hi guys, sorry to hijack this thread, but I am also interested in getting my teeth whitened. However, I had large gaps in the front of my teeth and the dentist put in white filling 18 months ago, which are now discoloured. Can i still use normal bicarb of soda, or any other gel. Does it affect the filling at all. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.0

Try Baking soda mixed with the weakest Hydrogen Peroxide (3%), paste on teeth, keep on for 20mins, if you can stop dribbling! HP is a well known mouthwash, by the way:rotfl:0

I have used the white teeth company and they were excellent.
www.whiteteethcompany.co.uk and their prices were good0 -
I went to my dentist to see how much it would cost to get my teeth whitened. Firstly he would not do it becuase he said there was work needed to be done (£150.00) even though I have been to see him 6 months earlier.
Secondly his teeth whitening option was £600.00.....I said thanks but no thanks.
After doing loads on research on the net I found a company who only charged £250.00
I had my teeth whitened a few months ago and they still look great but I am dreading my next trip to the dentist as he will know I have my teeth whitened somewhere else and I am sure he will grill me.
Dentists have this professional reputation but are commercial like everyone else so just beware.

They are practicing illegally, as they use non-dentally quallified operatives to carry out proceedures classed as 'dentistry'.
They have been reported to the General Dental Council, and you should probably report them to your local Trading Standards office. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
