    Hi,

Its just like toothpaste only its sparkly, lol, will hide it from the kids! :-)
You just brush your teeth with it, and it works really well. I have slightly yellowing teeth to one side and now they are all sparkly white after one use. OH is a smoker, coffee drinker and his are much better as well, so I throroughly reccomend giving this a go.

    Regards

    Sarah

I noticed it on special offer at Wilkinson's last week for about £2.48 (I think) - normal price seemed to be £3.99ish. I was tempted but it seemed such a tiny tube I wasn't sure it was worth it - think I might give it a go now!

i also saw it and saw how small the tube was and changed my mind!

think i will get it now i know it's worth it!

It is usually £3.49 but I got mine from Sainsbury's recently as it has £1 off.

You are supposed to use it every 7 days but I am using it every 8 days as the tube will last 7 weeks instead of 6!

It doesn't tell you if it ok to use it the week you have a proper scale & polish though, I had one last week and didn't know if I should still use it, I did in the end.

This stuff just really appeared in the shops without too much fanfare in any dental professional journals/magazines.

This suggests to me it is a bit more to do with the marketing men at Colgate than it is the scientists!!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • If anyone has a costco near them, they sell it there-I bought it at about £7 for three tubes..Red x

Well I find it makes my teeth feel cleaner, so for me it works enough for me to want to buy it. I just use it whenever I feel like an extra clean. My mum was also a fan

Is it just like a whitening toothpaste? I'd be worried that it'd wear the enamel away.

My daughter also use the opalescence and to prepare herself against sensitivity before treatment she cleaned her teeth with sensitive toothpaste for 3 weeks beforehand. During her treatment she also used a sensitive gel that came in a syringe like the opalescense which she got from dentist.net. I don't know if your dentist sells that but she said it was really good, my daughters dentist told her to just put a sesitive toothpaste in the trays for a couple of hours if she got sensitive so I don't know if the gel works relatively the same or better but it helped my daughter anyway. My daughter probably isnt as badly sensitive as you though but it may be worth a try. She also had been on minocyclin for 2 years too so we werent sure if some of the yellowing was from that either but it took longer than she thought it would to get a nice colour. She got used to it first by doing at least 1 hour a day up to 2 hours then she was able to sleep in the trays and it took prob 4 weeks. They arent brilliant white but they are not yellow they are her natural white colour. She made the mistake of slightly overfilling the trays which lead to gum irritation and pain but once she got this right there was no problem at all

I have used the Opalesence Tres White take home bleaching quite a few times out of all the OTC products this one works best, however its no match to in office laser bleaching like Zoom 2.
