Never had a problem with that! The parcel comes with a customs declaration form on the outside that says 'dental sample'. Maybe that's how they get round it;) My glass is half full :beer:0 -
I would highly recommend City Dental Practice, Union Street, Liverpool for Zoom 2 teeth whitening. Costs around £400 but worth having done by a professional private dentist.“Official Company Representative

My daughter passed comment yesterday on how white my teeth were looking and the only possible reason is that I've just bought a new electric toothbrush. It's the Philips Sonicaire and so far, I'm very impressed with it. It may be a cheaper alternative to having a whitening job done.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

A good brushing of the teeth is certainly a good starting point! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

I can't help you with where to go 'up north', as I live 'down south', but I will say don't bother with 'in surgery' laser whiteneing.
The laser, or any form of light doesn't make any difference at all, and is just a gimmick, and while you may get instant whitening results it will not last, and you will have wasted your money. The way to go is to have a dentist, (preferably one you see regularly who knows your teeth), take impressions and have trays made up so that you can do 'at home' whitening. The dentist will advise you of the correct strength of bleach to use and will supervise the process. It will take a couple of weeks to reach optimum whiteness, but it will be worth it. If you go for the 'instant results zoom' (or similar) you will need to maintain it with at home treatments, so you will be paying twice as much.
When your initial kit of bleaching syringes run out, take a look at www.dentist.net to buy a similar strength product at about a 50% saving or more, than the refills sold by UK dentists.
Not sure about prices 'up north', but here in the London suburbs dentist supplied home bleaching kits cost around £250-£350. Extra supplies of bleach from dentist.net cost me around £30 for about 6 months use.
I have been whitening my teeth under my dentist's supervision for around 2 years now, and I am very pleased with the results.

I can't really add anything to SparkyG's excellent post!
A lot of the 'in practice' systems do offer the trays and gel as a backup, so you go out with brilliant teeth, and then the result is 'stabalised' over the next couple of weeks with the gel.
This becomes very expensive though, and is only really of use if you want really white teeth for a wedding/photoshoot/movie premier, and have left it too late to just go with the gel & tray systems.
I wouldn't recommend it to be used TOO often though Sparky! I would generally only 'approve' an extra couple of syringes about once a year for my patients.
You don't want 'see-through' teeth:rotfl:

went to my dentist yesterday and asked about teeth whitening, they do the impression/tray type of whitening and it would cost £275. (private charges) but when I asked what type of improvement I could expect he showed me some teeth( hopefully fake!) and what mine were now and what i could expect and I couldnt tell the diff. May have been different with a whole set of them in my mouth though.0

You've got me worried now:eek: how often is 'too often'?
I drink lots of red wineand tea and coffee, as well as curries etc. so my teeth do get dingy very quickly
. I use the bleach for 2-3 days (2 hour sessions) about every 6-8 weeks, to 'top up'. Do you think that is too much? I use 16% carbamide peroxide.
My dentist knows how often I use it, but has never said 'don't' , but then again he's very laid back, and doesn't like comitting himself!
Cheers:beer:
