SO I've read on here alot on dentist don't actually whiten teeth it's just for a few hours until you eat something etc
Wondering what this ZOOM whitening is? Is that just very temporary too?
Does a dentist/practice actually whiten teeth? What works?
Mine are quite dull and wanted them whitened only recently been looking into this. Also I have a tooth that had a root canal, is it true this tooth cannot now be whitened?
And is it dangerous? How long does it last?
Thank you0 -
Go to your dentist and Chat to them. They can see your teeth ,xrays, fillings , gum condition, they know your medical history etc and can tell you if it will be safe and effective for you.
In general tray whitening gives the best long term results. Whitening won't change the colour of fillings, crowns. You may need top up treatments every 18 months to two years or so. There is no guarantee as to how White you will go most peoples teeth have an endpoint they won't brighten above.
However many people should not whiten teeth because of gum or teeth problems. So talk to your dentist.0 -
Thank you... Is Zoom whitening actually whitening? I've seen you saying to others that most wear off in a day or two
I've been to a dentist. They checked everything xrays. My teeth are fine and healthy etc and i asked him about whitening and he told me it would greatly improve my smile and i have been wanting to do it for a long time.
I have an appointment on tuesday with a private dentist they do zoom any advice where to go or which 'system' is best etc0 -
Zoom whitening will whiten your teeth, but....
In common with all the power whitening techniques the result tends not to be quite as stable as the slower tray whitening systems. This basically means you will get a great wow result on the day. but this will fall back after a few days / weeks but probably not to the level you started at so you will get a net improvement.
I only offer the tray whitening personally as it gets the better long term result at the cost of a longer treatment time.
Both methods need top ups in time as the factors that cause teeth to darken in the 1st place wont go away just because you had them whitened.0 -

So could you tell me what I can do to have whiter teeth in 2 months? Do I have to buy these tray whiteners from a dentist? How do they take effect?
Also is it very expensive? Thank you0 -
The post that refers to seems to have been removed Brook.
Looks like MSE Towers has realised that Beauty Parlour tooth whitening is illegal too!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

I have read many review about zoom teeth whitening, once they got the procedures, their teeth become sensitive, and their lips thicker. Although I never try it before, I suggest you to look another offer.

About your question, yes, in office teeth whitening will make your teeth white significantly in no time, but after the procedures done, you should take care of your teeth. Because smoking and drinking coffee, will cause your teeth back to the condition before the treatment0 -
in house whitening tends to dehydrate the tooth so they will look whiter due to this effect. Sit with your mouth open for 2 hours and you can mimic the results!!!!0
