  • Hi there,
Could anyone advise me where is the best place to buy whitening gel on the internet.
I currently use a 16% gel but would like to try a 22% as the results are very very slow.
    Would appreciate any advise.
    THanks:D

The 16% is probably very very slow because it's not a kosher product.

If, you happen to stumble on a PROPER 22% product it will probably dissolve your gums first!

If you're not prepared to spend the money to get it done properly (By a dentist), don't do it.

There is no 'NEED' for whiter teeth, and the potential damage you could do by getting dodgy products could cost you a fortune to put right.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • The 16% gel IS from my dentist!
I just wanted to try a stronger gel but not have to pay dentist prices.

You are paying for your dentists time and expertise. If you are not happy with the results you need to speak to the dentist providing the treatment who should, in a safe and controlled manner, be able to advise you. I normally charge no extra if I need to change the treatment (sometimes it just needs changes in when and how long trays are worn for) but bear in mind some peoples teeth do need a long time to whiten.

The other thing is are you keeping the syringes in the fridge as they need to be kept cool?
  • I would advise that you dont go around buying up stronger/different gels to those that your dentist has provided you with. Your dentist will have given you a specific concentration, based on what is safe for your teeth.

You may well get really bad sensativity/ burning gums with a stronger gel.

Like brook2jack, i normally change the treatment at no extra cost if viable. However, there are some teeth which just will not whiten/ whiten as well as other people's teeth.

Go back to your dentist, and see if theres anything he can recommend to get better results.

    Same here.

The patient is paying me for the result - not the stuff that achieves it.

If something doesn't work, I look into why and change things until it does work. I don't expect the patient to pay extra.

If I can't get anything to work - the patient gets a refund. But that has only hapened once to me. (But only because I am usually pretty good at filtering out the ones for whom it won't work well).

Go and speak to your dentist - don't muck about with the internet sites.

Just wanted to update that although I received the whitestrips I havent actually used them yet. Instead I changed toothpaste
to Rembrandt whitening and have been using that alongside the pearldrops that I usually use and that seems to have whitened them
to nearer the shade I got after the Zoom treatment which I'm quite happy with.

toothpaste will NOT whiten your teeth regardless of what it says on the tin. All it can do is remove stain but they can often be very abraisive and cause a lot of damage so be careful

Just had the latest email from Wowcher and the offer is teeth whitening from a company called allwhite3000. It's £89 and uses cold light lasers? They've got a very professional looking website but I can't seem to find many reviews of them. Most sites seem to point to a 'at-home' kit whereas this is performed in their clinic.

Has anyone used the company before and would recommend them? (only found 2 results on this forum from 2004 and Google wasn't much help either)

    Thanks in advance :)
