I have used Crest Advanced Pro Whitening Strips and they are super excellent! We bought the ones with extra adhesive and would advise those as even they didnt stick solid. They are an American Product and I bought mine from Ebay. Any questions just ask xxx
I know professionally done it costs at least a few hundred pounds, definitely have a read of reviews etc x
My brother has also had excellent results with the Crest strips, I'm about to try them myself.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

Hi all,
I've just come back from the dentist where he said my teeth are pretty good, thankfully! He also gave my teeth a quick clean to get rid of tobacco stains as I stopped smoking around 3 weeks ago. Now, hopefully I'll stay on the wagon, and if so I'd like to try whitening my teeth, however he quoted me around £240 for bleaching.
What I would like to know from some of you knowledgeable folk out there is whether there are any DIY kits/pastes etc out there that work without damaging your teeth? I'd really like to avoid a hefty bill if at all possible.

I had the laser whitening done about 4 years ago, my mum and dad treated me as I'd been good while my brace was on, and I had some discolouration due to having been ill when my teeth were developing as a baby.
I had no problems, it is not a bleach based treatment so no bleeding gums, blisters etc... It was around £500 but it included a made-to-measure tray and bleach to further whiten the teeth and for "touch ups" over the years - although the treatment is permanent, staining from foods, fags and red wine can still happen. It took an hour and I've only used the trays 4 times since then - for prom, our wedding and two formal balls.
They use a scale of A and B 1 to 10, A1 is the brightest white (think Ross in that episode of friends!!) A is a scale of white and B is more a creamy natural tone. Mine are B2 and look natural but still very white. They were B5 and the difference is very noticeable (at least to me, which is what counts after all)
The dentist I went to had recently expanded into cosmetic dentistry, but happened to be the dentist I'd been seeing from the age of 2, so I had complete confidence in him. I would recommend shopping around to find a practice and dentist you feel happy with.
I am a student nurse now and have lost count of the amount of times patients have complemented me on my smileMoney well spent mum and dad!!

I also second the Crest whitening strips- buy from Ebay. Because Crest are a well-known dental care brand and these strips are sold widely in the US I trust them. I have used them on and off quite a lot over the past few years, I only used them on my top set of teeth the first few times to see if they made any difference, and with repeat use, they defo do.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

£240 is a good price!
I charge £400.
There is a huge thread on here about tooth whitening, but basically shop-bought kits don't work. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I second toothsmith that price is excellent. We charge 275 for upper and lower whitening. Personally I wouldnt risk home whitening kits as you can end up spending more and get less.0

Has anyone tried/heard of this? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello all, newbie here!
I'm looking for cheap Tooth Whitening solutions, preferably surgical (power whitening). Unfortunately there are 100s of Dental practices in the UK that do this procedure and charge all kinds of prices. The average i've come across is 300-500£, I found some for 200£ but they had a several month waiting list -_-
I am hoping that somone here may be able to find me a suitable place to get my teeth whitened. I live in Port Talbot, South Wales. definitely willing to travel a decent distance if I must for cheap whitening!
Any information is helpful, thanks all.
