Talk Talk Pants at Customer Services - Don't touch them with a barge pole

About a month ago I signed up for the Talk Talk package (Line rental, phone and boradband) through CPW. At first was really pleased with service as they seemed really knowledgeable, nice and keen... a month down the line couldn't be more ANGRY and frustrated at them. Seriously considering dropping them as they are totally pants and their customer services team sucks!
After I signed up was supposed to get a "welcome pack" with my account details, package details etc... although I have called them several times since the beginning of the month, regarding this pack, I still havent received one. I was told that it was sent on 02/04, then it was sent on 10/04, now apparently a new one was sent on 20/04... and I still havent received it! My line was switched to them 10 days ago! I suppose it would make more sense to send the pack before the line is switched, particularly when I was told repeatadely over the phone that as soon as I got the pack I would have to sign up for online billing if I did not want to be charged an extra £1.50/month!
When I signed up I was told that 14 days after my line was switched to them I would get my broadband. On their first letter to me they said the broadband would go live on 23/04 and I should receive a router some days before. Since I hadnt received a router I called them again on 20/04 and the person I spoke to said that it had been sent on 16/04 and that I should receive it shortly. She also confirmed that my broadband would go live on 23/04, which was supposed to be today.
Since I still havent received my router I called them again today, only to be told that "No the router hadnt been sent yet", "no your broadband is not going live today, we dont know when it is going live, we have to contact our technical dept to find out, this will take up to 48 hours (????!!!!!???), it will probably take another 2 weeks before it goes live!!!" GGGGGRRRRRRRR!!! That would be one month after my line was switched over to them!! So long for up to 14 days after your line is switched to us... it might be sooner... in the mean time I'm stuck with dial-up!
I tried contacting the Talk Talk Rep on this site as she had been very helpful and willing when I was thinking of switching over to them. No reply... It's been 3 days and I'm not holding my breath, very much doubt they will help in any way!
Called their customer services again to complain about their lousy service, asked to speak to a manager as was fed up of talking to lying minions... was told it would take 48 hours for a manager to get back to me, told them this was ridiculous and was rewarded by the woman hanging up on me! No apologies nothing just hung up! Which of course made me really mad and I called again... this time I waited 10 minutes for a manager to come to the phone only to be told later that the manager was too busy and would have to get back to me within the next 24 hours!!!
I think the manager was too busy with all the other complaining customers regarding their lousy service!
Frankly, go with anyone else but TALK TALK, they are lousy and their customer services is pants! Don't touch them with a barge pole!

Just a quick update...
Havent heard back from the customer services "manager" at Talk Talk.
I AM VERY VERY ANGRY and quite frankly thinking about leaving Talk Talk. VERY FRUSTRATED! Was supposed to get a phone call back from a customer services manager and guess what? No one called back of course... I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED with the service you provide and think it is a despicable way of treating customers!0 -

I'm also very happy with them,we've been with them ages, we have the Talk Total Anytime package and run 3 very busy computersThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
I have to agree with Annando, Worst customer service i have ever experienced.
I am a Network Security Analyst and have a very good understanding of Routers as i deal with them every day of the week.
I was having problems with my connections (My DHCP lease was resetting every 15 minutes) I tried 4 different ADSL routers and the same happened every time.
First off i had trouble communicating with 3 different staff as we couldnt understand each other. The fourth person i got through to told me that the problem was with my PC even thought i explained the router was losing its external IP address. They then put me through to Second line who i couldnt understand either who told me the problem was with maplin (Store) who i didnt even mention?!?!
So i had a connection problem for about 5 weeks couldnt get through to any customer service, cancellations kept putting me through to second line who would not understand me then hang up.
I would never touch these again, I would recommend everyone to stay away. they may be cheap but they are cheap for a reason. Nothing but bad service and bad customer service.0 -
We are very happy with TalkTalk
The swapover from cr***y BT/Virginmedia went smoothly and on the date they said it would.
Not only do I get faster BB but we dont get ripped off on our phone bills for charges.
Unforunately, no company can give 100% customer satisfactory service.0 -
Been with TT for over a year now and very happy with their service.
I can understand the OP being angry as things didn`t go how they should.
BUT, instead of ranting on this site, they would get more and better help if they joined TT`s member`s forums where the reps are there every day.

How can people be happy with a company that has been on Watchdog more times in the last 24 months than any other company?0

I`ll tell you why I`m happy.
For £16-39 a month (due to go up in May by £1-35) I get a 40gig broadband download at up to 8 meg speed, free evening and weekend phone calls, free calls to 36 international destinations and this includes line rental.
In May I get free local calls anytime and in June free 0870 and 0845 number within my calling package.
All this for £17-74 a month, that`s why I`m happy with TalkTalk and if you know of anything better for the money, name it. :T:T:T0
