Tomorrow will be the first official standing order payment of my loan so I am interested to see how much monthly interest there is. I know this will decrease each month as I pay it off, but I am hoping my hard work has done something to keep the interest down at least a bit.

Tonight I am aiming to get a lot of items on ebay to try and shift them. Am also playing free bingo on Laddies again.

All weekend I keep thinking I must start sorting through dd's photos and document them in some way that isn;t just stored on the PC. I love digital photos but they do seem to sit hidden away and unlooked at more than when I had to actually send my films off to print.
I am toying with the idea of digital scrapbooking and then getting them printed but not sure yet.

Wow - thats great that you have managed to pay £225 off your loan before your first standing order comes off your bank - well done, thats fab!!

Hope your ebay listing session goes well and you manage to get some bits and pieces from your DD's clear out she's had!!

I know what you mean about digital photos, you really can't beat an actual photo album to sit and browse through. Is there a site that you can use for the digital scrapbooking? That sounds interesting.... I can't wait to finish my studies so that I can spend more time on fun things like that....

Well today saw the first payment and I checked first thing this morning. My sig has been updated but I can see I'm going to be anal about the total, and I think I'll be paying £6.86 off very soon to even that number off.

I was very pleased to see the interest charged this morning was £31 instead of the £42 that the snowball predicted. That means I have managed to overpay by more than my predicted and brought the interest amount down significally which makes me happy.

I also won £12 odd on free bingo last night. That will be added to my paypal account and help bring forward the withdrawal from that when I get a decent amount.
OH had a car tax rebate this morning from his old car that dies which prompted my loan in the first place, so when that is banked and cleared he'll be giving me that to come off the loan.

I managed to get 10 new listings on ebay last night. One thing sold yesterday, and six ending tonight, four with watchers so am hopeful. It's all being sold for 99p or slightly more but all helps my totals.

Need to go to the post office this afternoon and then I can sort out my tax credits renewal so I'll know where I am for this year as I finally got my renewal pack this morning. My wages are ever so slightly higher but so are nursery fees so am hoping it will even itself out and I wont owe anything from last year.

Also want to get 10 more new listings on tonight as well as some relists.

Good news on the interest front!! Thats great - must be really motivating for you!! Thats money better in your pocket that in theirs, thats for sure!

Congrats on the bingo win too - you seem to be on a roll! I hope your ebay items all sell, that would be great.

I'm hoping to get some more listings on ebay too - but that will be time dependant - I don't know where time goes, I'm off work but seem to be getting less done that I would if I was there!!

Thanks cwc. Nothing much happening on the money front today. I have been lapse about adding any extra listings to ebay yesterday and today. I must do them but it will wait until tomorrow. I still have plenty on there to keep relisting for today anyway.

Been to the dentist this afternoon and had a tooth out. Feel a bit wierd now the injection is wearing off but will put my feet up tonight lol. Only one more appt left and then I don't have to worry again for six months.

OH got a car tax rebate for £77 yesterday which I sent him off to the bank with this morning on his way to work. When that is clear it will get transferred to me and paid off the loan.

Well done on that progress Yukkibear - you're doing really well with it!

To be honest the main thing I learnt from the last year was to learn to enjoy seeing money building up in the bank.....I get a real buzz now from moving the money from current account to ISA - the first real aim for the year will be to fill this years entitlement. At the moment the sum you see if my sig is split into some in the ISA, and some in the savings accounts attached to my current account and our joint one....I like to make sure that if something breaks or needs replacing we have the money to hand to sort the situation out. I tend to make one big transfer to the ISA a month, with maybe some smaller ones in between times. Other than that, do a budget sheet and keep it updated. Work on the stuff you can make big savings on first, then cascade down to the smaller stuff. Buy everything you possibly can through Quidco or similar. If the money is going out and you can't work out where, keep a spending diary. Finally, and the thing that works best for me, is to set myself a strict budget for spending money per week - I take that out of the cashpoint on a Friday night and that's it - there's no more. Works a treat, and I have a savings tin for anything from the budget that I don't spend.

If you're interested in reading a bit more about how I actually paid our loan off then I ran a diary on the MFW board - it's slipped miles down now but you will find it if you look for threads started by me - it's called "The Grand Plan" :D

Well done again - I'm looking forward to watching your progress.

All I can say today is OUCH! I have felt hungover and full of head cold all day without the aid of some paracetamol. NOt filling me with joy having to go and have another tooth out next week.

All I have managed today is some relists from items that haven;t sold on ebay, but I did sell four items today which is nice. Just need to wait for some awkward payers now.

£77 paid off the loan today :j
According to my spreadsheet, I'm into June's overpayment already and we've only just gone into May's so that's good (10th - 10th)

A few more bits put on Ebay today and I'll relist some unsold bits. Trouble is I am going to run out of ideas soon and will need some extra ways to get some cash lol

Hi Yukkibear - well done on your extra £77 off your loan, thats fab and your amount in your signature looks great! I rekon at this rate you'll have it paid off by Christmas!! :T

I need to get some ebay motivation as well!! I think I might stay up late and get some bits on too - I also have 3 episodes of Corrie to catch up with and I'm a bit of a soap fan!

What other things to do you to raise extra pennies? Do you use any cashback sites? I'm a big quidco fan!! I have heard of people doing online surveys too, but don't know how well they pay. I'm signed up to pureprofile but the surveys are few and far between - although they do pay up to £1.50 a time.

Just a few suggestions - I'm sure you are already doing a few of them!
