Some more Ebay items posted today and a couple of bids on things ending over the weekend.
The downside to my day is that when I checked my bank acc this morning, my tax credits had gone in £115 lighter than last month which is a pain as that's an extra £100 we're going to be down each month. My nursery fees are going up as well so I'm hoping when my p60 goes in with the increase to nursery bills then tax credits may go up slightly. Just hope they don't go down. I knew it was going to happen as last year I was getting extra due to being on mat leave the year before. I hate their system but couldn;t do it without them unfortunately.
Anyway rant over about that!
Today I have paid off £10 from the loan from my tombola win as that was also in my account this morning.
I have had 2 nsd in a row and hoping for another today but can see myself buying a bottle of coke later at work to cheer myself up. Will try not to though.
I have batch cooked a veggie chilli this morning which I'll take some for my tea tonight at work and then freeze the rest for work dinners over the next couple of weeks.
May and June is a bad months for birthdays as both my children are going to fleece me for lots of money lol.
Happy weekend everyone.0 -
Well I had a little flutter on another bingo site today which was naughty but cam out £26 better off. I don't normally do bingo unless there is cash back attached.
I have a couple more ebay auctions with bids on finishing over the weekend and then I'll withdraw from paypal and chuck the total at my load when I get it.
I am going to have a couple of glasses of wine tonight but that will be my low spend of the weekend as chilling at home tomorrow and monday we'll take a picnic out to the local park if it's nice.0 -
Hi yukkibear, I will subscribe and watch your thread with interest! I had a fiesta too - they're fab little cars, and sounds like you got a good one for a good price (06 plate for £3k). I'm sure you'll be able to clear your loan by April 2010 - good luck!! :T0
-
The fiesta actually cost 4.5k but still a good price, I used some savings towards it so just got the loan for 3k.
Am playing free bingo again tonight, but guess it's too much to hope for for another win lol.0 -
Hi there
Well done for reducing your loan down already and keep up the good work. Bummer about the tax credits though.

Well done for not needing a loan for the full amount of the car :T thats even better!

Yeah I guess lol, but now I have to recoup savings as well. I didn;t get rid of emergency savings but it still feels a bit emptier lol.
On the plus side I had a free bingo win again today of £16.07. That will go into paypal to be withdrawn with the rest of the ebay sales. I'm hoping to withdraw just over £100 when my ebay auctions finish tonight and here's hoping they all pay quickly.
I was going to JUST overpay the loan by £130 each month and the rest to savings but I am going to chuck everything I can at the loan as then it will be gone quicker and I can concentrate on the savings afterwards.
I also know all months wont be as good as this one as I am going to run out of stuff to sell on Ebay sooner or later.0 -

Well done on your bingo win, thats good!! I think thats a good plan, to try and clear the loan first then concentrate on replenishing your savings afterwards. I've read quite a lot on here that its better to get rid of any debt that costs you in interest rather than have the money sitting in savings not earning you that much!
Ha ha I know what you mean about running out of stuff to sell on ebay, my OH keeps saying to me, where on earth are you finding all this stuff to sell!! I always seem to manage to find things! I have boxes upon boxes of baby clothes of my daughters, I have thought about listing those as job lots but when I take the boxes out of the loft to go through them I think, "aww thats cute", or "oh my mum bought her that, must keep it" and most of it ends up going back up! :rolleyes:0 -
Yes CWC you should keep the sentimental pieces as the few quid you get for them isn;t worth the little money you get.
I feel quite good tonight and have acomplished a lot today. I've made quiches, cakes, sausages and have some chicken marinading in the fridge to cook in the morning, all for our picnic tomorrow.
We've also made a birthday card for dd to send into cbeebies which will be great if it gets shown.
Four items sold on Ebay tonight and three have paid already which is nice. Will get a transfer from pp tomorrow and then by the end of the week I should see some debt busting happening.0 -
Hi yukkibear, your picnic sounds yummy!! Hope you had a lovely time, we didn't have great weather for picnics here today - it rained most of the day so we didn't get out anywhere!
Congrats on the ebay sales, I love getting the emails when my auctions are ending!! Hee hee! I think I'll put my next batch on ebay on Thursday, I'll have recovered from the trauma of my exam by then.... :P0
