I loathe the post office. I have never had a good experience yet. Between incompetant deliveries, appalling service and horrific queues I would do anything to avoid them. I have actually stopped selling on ebay because I couldn't bear to go to my local post office. I have never queued there for less than thirty minutes (including once when there were only 2 people in there). Usually it takes an hour, they have no more than 3 windows open, despite a queue of 40+. The lottery counter on the other hand is empty of customers but always fully staffed!

exactly my experience - and when I finally get served they attempt to communicate without actually speaking to me, very frustrating.

I have been 'told off' twice by this ol' bag in a small PO for daring to print my own label (paypal), and not printing the certificate of posting too!

When I asked for a certificate of postage, I got "we're not supposed to do this.. you should print it yourself". and
"We don't get anything for doing this you know"...

I bit my lip, but felt like telling her to complain to RM then, not me!

Every post office is different and I tend to use about 8 different ones, depending which one is convenient. I got totally THE OPPOSITE the other day. I was basically thrown the certificate of posting back, saying that they couldn't accept them. I asked why as everywhere else accepted them, and the whingy old woman kept saying "We can't help the rules, we can't accept them. They mean nothing if your parcel goes missing" and the lady that was serving me just re-itterated (sp) what her colleague said and proceeded to weigh and print out all the proof of postings, whatatotalwasteoftime. I was on double yellow, so I was not impressed. tut tut me!

Other post offices have been annoyed at the fact I have printed out my own postage. Saying that it's going to be the end of the PO & rolling their eyes.

Another post office man tried to lecture me about the fact I had not put the correct weight on the parcel. The fact is, you input the correct weight and Paypal prints out missing off the last number eg. 0.101kg becomes 0.10 ....so I tried to put him straight that it was not my fault.

Other POs say they have to re-weigh everything, and use my proof of postings.

Never been told off for re-using packaging. I always try and do this, as as long as it doesnt look untidy and is clear then what on earth is the problem.!!? Less landfill please!!! :T
    Whether we win or lose,
that we played at all was a winning decision. :D

Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A
