There is a pub called St. Peters Finger which used to be good (I think it's at Lytchett Matravers)
The Shah of Persia do good lunches, they have a carvery.Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -
Hi, given it's your wedding anniversary you need somewhere special! I would say defo Hotel Du Vin - or a well established and well known favourite is Isabels. http://eatoutpoole.com/listings.php?id=R434b7acef39b8.
this is in a very nice area called Ashley Cross which is a great place for nice drinks before. it has a green and a villagey feel. you could go for cocktails at mai tai, or a drink at the cow or le bateau and then on to food. in terms of a friday night, 1812 in bournemouth [opposite the bic] do the most fabulous cocktails [pricey but great] from 10pm they have live music which is fab. this is a great night out. hope this helps - if you want pm me for any other details as we live there!0 -
The custom house does the most wonderful Pimms - overlooking the quay and not too pricey. They also do super lunches - not cheap again, but then you'll get used to this!0

You could always get the chain ferry over to Studland - there's a restaurant called Shell Bay overlooking the harbour and further round (5 min drive) is a good family pub - the Bankes Arms which has a great beer garden.0 -
The print room is a fantastic restaurant, I had great service and was really impressed with the food and location.
West beach is a great location overlooking the sea but very hard to get a table and quite expensive. There are cheaper beach side alternatives along the bay: Coasters (Boscombe) and Bistro on the Beach (Southbourne), Vesuvio (Alum Chine) being a couple to note.
Another favourite is the Bistro in the Haven Hotel, just next to the chain ferry in Sandbanks. It's a bit more reasonable than the main restaurant and has stunning views across the bay.
The Shell Bay Bistro is probably my favourite in the Bournemouth and Poole area. You can get a cab to Sandbanks then catch the ferry across the water to Studland beach. It's especially romantic in the summer as you can sit out side and watch the sun go down over Brownsea Island. If you go on a thursday night (in season) then shortly after the sun has gone down the fireworks start going off at the quay in the distance. Shell Bay bistro has always earned me a good stock of boyfriend points0 -
I live in Poole and list the following as some of the best in the area:
Italian Gossip, The Quay, Poole - Excellent evening menu but best value at lunchtime, £6.95 for 2 courses. Great views over the harbour.
Rising Sun, Poole - Nicely renovated, very friendly staff, good relaxed atmosphere, food good.
Print Room, Bournemouth - Not cheap but I love the whole experience and rate this place highly.
Coffee Club, 44 Poole Road, Westbourne - Best value for miles around. Open 7 days a week from 9.45am to 9.45pm. Mediterranean, Oriental & Thai Stir Frys & British. Sounds a bit of a mish mash but it is very good.
Patricks, Ashley Cross - Relaxed bistro, good food and special 2 course menu in evening at £9.95.
Hotel du Vin, Poole - Excellent value if still running special meal deal, if not can be pricey. I love the place.0 -
If you are in the Winton area of Bournemouth pop into 'The Pines' for a real breakfast and it will cost you less than £2 which is why its popular the the local students .0

Another vote for Shell Bay! There is a chain ferry from Poole which takes only a few minutes and Studland is beautiful. The restaurant specialises in fish and the views are great. Very special.0
