A few more to throw into the mix:

There are a couple of nice restaurants in Bournemouth too. WestBeach is on the seafront: http://www.west-beach.co.uk/ and they do live music evenings there.

There is also The Print Room http://www.theprintroom-bournemouth.co.uk/ - it's a bit pricey but is good food and they also do breakfasts and lunch.

For something a bit cheaper there's Wagamama right by the odeon in Bournemouth too.

For fish there is Loch Fyne in Poole http://www.lochfyne.com/ and I think they have a £10 off voucher on their website at the moment.

There are also a couple of nice restaurants in Westbourne: Basilica: http://www.basilica.biz/
    and Indi's (Indian): http://www.indis.uk.com/

The Nelson Tavern is also lovely too. It's a pub in Christchurch/Mudeford with a Thai Restaurant underneath. Lovely food and reasonably priced: http://www.nelsontavern.com/

    Hope you enjoy your stay!
Never regret anything....'cos at one time it was exactly what you wanted...

For a treat there's The Guildhall Tavern at the top end of Poole High St, French with good fresh fish, they do a Times offer with a special (restricted) menu that's worth looking out as well.

Fish and Chips from Chez Fred in Westbourne.

Chinese at City Bay Views in Poole.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Hotel Du Vin voucher here - £29 for 2 courses for 2 + wine. Used to be the Mansion House - very prestigious.

Also another vote for Mezza Luna. Try and get there for sunset.

If you want Chinese then try:

    http://www.oceancityrestaurant.co.uk

    or

    http://www.oceanpalace.co.uk/html/home/f_main1.htm

Ocean City is newer and has a nice art deco/Miami Vice feel, Ocean Palace is the original one and serves better food.

Bournemouth I always find a bit grotty, especially around the sea front.

I wish someone would sweep the sand up, makes it look all untidy

I went to Bournemouth Uni 10 years ago, and stumbled across the most amazing restaurant in Wimbourne called Les Bouviers and would be absolutely perfect for celebrating a 1st anniversary.

Although the a la carte menu can be pricey (£38 for 2 courses) they offer exactly the same dishes at lunchtime for 1/2 price. My Mum used to take me there as a special treat, and I celebrated many Birthdays and my Graduation there. The food is absolutely excellent (chef worked at many michelin starred restaurants) and the service brilliant. I've many many fond memories of meals there and really hope you manage to make it. I'm certain you'll have an amazing time.
