Selling livestock on ebay?

That's been pulled too - it was against eBay rules. There are lots of people who try to flout the rules but the auctions are usually closed pretty quickly.
The bottom line is that eBay is an auction site - the seller is obliged to sell to the highest bidder - regardless of whether they are a good home for the animal or not. That is no way to find a home for any living creature. Advertising is completely different. There homes can be vetted and the seller can refuse to sell if they are not completely satisfied (likewise the buyer can refuse to buy).0 -
I am just wondering what a seller who is offering "5 lovely hamsters for local pick up only" does with the hamsters once the auction is pulled and they cannot sell them easily?
Rules are rules folks, but common sense should really prevail.
i agree, think there are worse listing than this on ebayTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.:D0 -
actually real horses are being sold on ebay, not "my little pony".tine wrote:firsly My Little Pony doesn't count as livestock
Nor does Barbies horses
And I am pretty sure that if any listings for horses were spotted they'd be pulled pretty sharpish
As for anyone buying a horse or pony on ebay... They'd seriously need their head examining!

*sigh* firstly I am trying to make a little light of something very serious. I spend a lot of time and money on saving animals. Yes I know people TRY to sell horses and ponies on Ebay but trust me there are people out there who scour the rooms for these... And I don't think any have slipped through to my knowledge where an auction has been allowed finish with a live animal as the item for sale...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
