I am new to this thread and the first link navigates you to a 2mb pixel camera now with no image, seems they must have "ran out of stock" of the original offer.

As for the TV I joined Empire a good few years back and got the same deal, I still have offers of getting a new one! No thanks! It got used at work when the main telly broke down and it fitted in my locker, thankfully we got a new tv fairly soon!

I just received the camera today + the free Tv.

Not very happy  with the camera because empire stores showed on the website the picture of the Concord 3040 but what i received was the Concord 2040 camera. Now on their website they have removed the picture of the Concord 3040 for £19.99 and now say picture comming soon.

I will now have to return the whole lot back including the TV  .

Review of the camera Concord 2040 (old model):

The camera looks cheap and ugly, my wife says it looks like the one time camera that you throw away :D . I took the camera out for a spin today, I put the Flash to be on everytime and not in auto mode, i took lots of great outdoor pictures, came home to find that all the pictures that i took were all white, you cant see anything except for a white blank screen  . I found that if you set the flash to be on everytime now matter what the weather is like (sunny, clody) the pictures turn out blank white pictures. But if you set the flash to Auto the pictures turn out properly. What kind of a camera is this.

One thing i would say is that the picture qulity is excellent on screen but i dont now how the pictures would turn out on paper, but i pressume it would be excellent.

This camera is great for first time digital camera users.

Artofdookie please could you edit your first post, Empire stores is offering the Concord 2040 and not the 3040

3MP thankfully although I havent used it so it may not be up to much, I intend to give it as a gift so doesnt really matter ;)

Could you write here the model you received (it is written in front of the camer)? Is it the prosed 3040AF?

If so, I can only guess they had some of these and they sent them, but then started shipping the lower quality 2 Mpixel model....

Also, has anyone saved the original page with the description of the item?
If so, please send me (either a link to a web space you might have or the files themselves).

I am sure I have read 3.1 MP and the photo looked the 3040 model!!! But I don't have the page with me :(
I will certainly complain with them if mine turns out not to be the 3 Mpixel I expected...

erm, but you can? once you bought it, if it isnt what is described then your LEGALLY entitled to a 3mp camera
  • Bought my daughter a 5 megapixel (yes 5 megapixel) camera at tesco for £29.99.They routinely have them in the store for this price. The make is Premier DS-5080 has a colour view screen various manual and auto modes and shoots video we are most impressed with the results. Tesco right on your doorstep will happily take it back if you have any problems. Doesn't seem worth bothering with this offer

Didn't save the original page but on my confirmation email from them there is stated:
"SW6826 GREAT PRICE! CONCORD DIGITAL CAMERA IN 3MP"

In my opinion, 3MP means 3MegaPixel. I do not think they can deliver legally anything different than ordered.
Of course, sometimes on internet shops websites there is statement: "colors may vary", but it's not the case this time.
  • Just bought two of these (because I was overwhelmed by the discounts offered) but noticed that the link now points to a 2 megapixel camera, not 3.1....felt a bit stoopid.

Also, I'm going to have to suss out how to get around Empire....

Still, I've got one Xmas present sorted now!!

Yeah, I got an order confirmation email but no customer number, and it doesn't even have my name on it !!

I chose to pay by credit card rather than open an account with them, so they have my card details and will presumably take payment when they dispatch the goods.

When you say you haven't paid for it yet, I assume you mean you have not entered any credit card details. Presumably you opted to have it charged to your account rather than pay directly by credit card. You'll need to check out their payment terms and make sure you settle up in time otherwise you'll no doubt be stung for interest.

They do 20 weeks interest free credit, so you won't.
