Well, what a waste of time!

I registered my details successfully but placed a 2nd order online this morning because Empirestores did not send an order confirmation and neither for the 2nd. I have no way to check if my order is being processed because I have no reference, order or account number. I couldn't find any way to pay by credit card as it states account payments only.

But Hey, I can always use their 0870 number to find out what's going on. mmmmmmmmmm I don't think so!

Now that zml has received a lesser model I hope that my order(s) don't go through.

Their site is a joke! Maybe they just like a chat on the phone. mmmmmmmmmmm :mad:

My order summary says I'm getting a 3mp but it sounds like I may just receive the 2mp - has anyone managed to get through and successfully ask to be sent the correct model?
Also, anyone received the portable tv specified in discount code?

Even if i do get a 2mp one (so long as it has a flash) i am not complaining, good for nights out and no biggie if it goes amiss! for ~ £10 :P

I have been an Empire customer for years and up until recently have had no problems, However since they became part of Redcats grroup things have taken a dive. The biggest scam was with their commission. I had accumulated about £450 commmission in goods or £350 in cash, but suddenly in my last statement this had been reduced to £100 cash or £125 in goods. When I queried this, I was told that any commission unclaimed within 2 years would be lost or if there was nil balance for 6 months it would also be lost. I am an ongoing customer!!! The Customer Service person was extremely unpleasant when I told her there was no way they wre getting away with this. After a very strong letter of complaint threatening all sorts, and a phone call to Trading Standards they have re-instated my commission. They did not even think this change in policy was important enough to inform their customers in writing with their monthly statement., it appeared in the commission section of their catalogue two catalogues ago!!
Their ordering system is quite straightforward if you have an account, and you can buy goods interest free for 20 or 52 weeks with free delivery and returns. I only ever order from their sale stock as the regular stuff is way overpriced, and I have had some amazing bargains. I will however place an order to get the free stuff then just send it back stating it is unsuitable. I sometimes felt guilty about this and usually tried to keep something but not any more.
Another tip, about their voice activated phone system..... if you say nothing you will eventually get to speak to a real person.!!!!
