I thought I might have! Trouble is, the only thing in my diary midweek right now is a talk on global poverty, and thats not quite the ticket right now, I'd like something a bit brighter :):)

And now ... a cup of coffee.

    Hi Shaun

In London, you can walk along the river for an awful long way now - the walk itself might not be appealing cos of the ages of your kids, but there are lots of interesting little spots - the south bank around Tate Modern, for instance, with the pedestrian bridge over the river to St Paul's.... the (free) green outside the Tower of London, just by Trinity Square too (massive great memorial to merchant seamen). The walk is interesting cos its lots of little bits all tied together, you're often up hill and down dale.

I think I was 5 or so when we went through London on the way to my uncle's in Essex, and I can still remember chasing the pigeons in Trafalgar Square - and kids still do that! Green Park, nearby, is nice, walk down The Mall for a view of Buck Palace.

British Museum - now they've glassed over the inner courtyard, its amazing *inside* not just for the exhibits..... and its still free .... and anyone can go in the old Reader's library now - see where Karl Marx sat to write the Communist Manifesto! Science Museum if your kids are hands on.

Tell us the details of the itinerary!

Hi shaun, some good things I've done that are free in london are the natural history museum, the science museum and the tate modern. Now whilst the tate modern may not seem like a great day out with kids, it is right next door to the London aqaurium so if you did that then you could spend a while wandering around the tate modern after. If you pre- book tickets to the london aquarium then you would pay £11.93 as a concession for yourself, then your OH would get in free as a carer, kids under 3 go free and 3-14s are £10.58 each.
