Shaun, if you dont mind me saying, that seems an awful lot of money for one trip :o In fact, I see a mini challenge on Hypnos thread developing, for us all to help you get the cost of it down as much as possible, what do you reckon would be a good figure to aim for?? :D

Hi shaun, some good things I've done that are free in london are the natural history museum, the science museum and the tate modern. Now whilst the tate modern may not seem like a great day out with kids, it is right next door to the London aqaurium so if you did that then you could spend a while wandering around the tate modern after. If you pre- book tickets to the london aquarium then you would pay £11.93 as a concession for yourself, then your OH would get in free as a carer, kids under 3 go free and 3-14s are £10.58 each.

Just a thought re London, the Victoria + Albert museum, is free, I went a few yrs ago, there was something for everyone, sticks in mind as was fascinated that Tupperware was in a museum, x

Travelodges are doing a load of £19 rooms this summer - well worth a look to see if you can get any cheap rooms for at least some of your stay.

Also incase you cant get a rm for £19, Travelodge are doing £29 rm offer for July and August, in theory starts think 14th (yep Thurs at 6am), but I found the last big offer some of the rooms had been listed at sale prices the evening before. Its utter madness when the sale starts.x
